Ryan4VT 4,557 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 Tech is in a 3 way tie atop the ACC with UNC and UVA but the Hokies own the tie breakers over both of the teams. VT will face UVA in Charlottesville on Thursday and the winner of that game will probably go on to become the regular season champion of the ACC. [/ QUOTE ] VT can't overlook UVA, esp. when it is at UVA. GT led most of the game saturday against UVA, only to not score another point the last 3:30 in the game. UVA took the lead with 30 seconds left and never looked back. The crowd at UVA can be silent, but it is a tough place to play when they get excited. vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 Exactly, it's Tech's to lose at this point. Let's say they beat UVA. Then they have a Clemson team that started the season 17-0. What does that mean? That means that the boys can play. That also means that they don't have much to lose at this point, and what better way to make a statement than to take out the team atop the standings... But, all that needs to be said after the game on Thursday night. Go Hokies.

cityofRaven 2,453 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 im honestly sick of still hearing from most people that unc is a number one seed. and tech not even being ranked last week.
vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 Yeah, good point. no. 1 seeds need to be Wisconsin, OSU, Florida, and UCLA. Give UNC a no. 2 seed though, they're definitely good enough. I'm just excited that Tech is doing this well this far into the season. Again, it's ours to lose now.
Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 [ QUOTE ] what's happening to UNC?? [/ QUOTE ] They cannot make free-throws in the to close out games. They missed key free-throws against VT and Maryland when they had the lead. Then missed free-throws that would have tied both games in the final seconds. Something as basic as free-throws makes a HUGE difference this time of the year...

rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 Tech still has to play Clemson on Sunday. They need to beat them and the Hoos to lock up the #1 seed.
