I agree with you on gate city, the one time i played there it was so loud you couldnt hear the person next to ya, plus the crowd wasnt very freindly to their opponets. lol...............also would have to say hurley the past few years, due the field, its tough to start running without losing a shoe or sliding all over the place.

Top 5:

(1) Carroll County - amazing home win % over the last 5 to 10 years.

(2) Gate City - I remember going to watch Richlands play and Ringstaff turns to the crowd behind him and starts flapping his arms trying to pump up the crowd on a 3rd down play...only problem was, at Gate City they fill up the visitors side with the home crowd...lol.

(3) Hurley - the cliff has always been a hard place to play because of the crowd...you never know what will get thrown at you and you might even get shot at before you get out of there...plus there is no "good" way to get to Hurley.

(4) Richlands - a nice place to visit, the local fans will roll out the red carpet for you... but it's hard to beat Richlands at home.

(5) Giles - it's just a long night when you travel to Giles...hard to go in there and come out with a win.

Hurley wasent a tough place to play last season. The '05 season it was rocking there. I hope things turn around for these guys this year.

1. Big Creek - when they were good, was almost impossible to win at......the crowd was rowdy, and mostly drunk...haha......plus they put the visiting team in front of the home stands....

2. Legion FIeld - very hard to win there. They sound that horn on TDs, plus there is no visiting section

3. Ernie Hicks - most of the time, especially important games, its usually 16 vs 11......plus they have that bull horn now, that should be illegal

4. Tommy Thompson Field - very hard to win there

5. Grundy - a total mud bath.......its been done before but it is hard

that may be true because of all the fields mentioned mitchell is by far hands down the best field till you get to the college ranks. and also it depends on who you are playing at mitchell as to how tough it can be to play there. when the fans from both graham or blfd get into the game it can get very loud there.

Ok is it just me or does the field at Mt. View not get in the listings? Seriously the sidelines, maybe about 3 yards wide. And that is having to be shared with your cheerleaders and all the stuff that normally has to be on the sidelines and from what I remember that place was muddier that anything I have ever seen (though my motto is a little mud never hurt anybody) but still that was a rough field to be on. And obviously the home field crowd was not really to loving toward the visiting team. Maybe it has changed since uhhh 2001 but I am fairly sure it hasn't.

There might have been some idiot kid doing that but there are cops and a lot of teachers over on the side where the visitors enter the field from the locker rooms...so ...i dunno how much could go on over there...from what i've seen richlands seems to be pretty concerned with the other teams comfort level and has always been a pretty class act, with a few exceptions during certain era's...but the current program takes a lot of pride in putting on a good show for visiting folks.

going in there and beating them on that field is another story...

def. big creek, last year when we played them we had to have a police escort back and forth from the field. and they were ppl cussin us all the way through the parking lot, and from behind us on the sidelines.

Big Creek easily...i remember when i was a player we were doing our pregame walk threw and we were finding shotgun shells on the field...and yes they put us in front of the home stands and we got cussed all night long

Shot-gun shells?? now thats funny...I grew up on that field..I was at every practice with my grandpa, and every game...The excitement before the games when they had a good team was extreme!

yeah it was a wild time at BC when they were good.......my dad was an all-american LB there in the 70s, and when he was alive he told me some stories. Stories about how most of the fans and the student body would rock the visiting team's bus from one end of town all the way to the stadium, all the cussin, alot of drunk fans would wait for the refs after games.

We played there in 97, I remember turning around from the sidelines and seeing young girls, possibly 9 or 10 cussing us like dogs. It was wild!

The funny part of it all was when I was a kid, i used to go to all their home games with my dad.
