BCRAM55 11 Report Share Posted September 26, 2007 How about Tazewell and Carroll? they are both good programs. I say that Marion will finish ahead of Graham and Grundy.

GmanFan 21 Report Share Posted September 27, 2007 Abingdon will definitely give Richlands competition this year. They did last year. Carroll will be strong I expect. Tazewell will hold their own. Graham, Grundy, and Marion will battle for 5th.
cowboyup 10 Report Share Posted September 27, 2007 richlands/abingdon = 1 or 2 the rest of the district 3-? it should be a good year for these 2 teams!
six4three 10 Report Share Posted September 29, 2007 1. abingdon 2. richlands mark it down.
falconfansrock 11 Report Share Posted October 13, 2007 I hope it goes that way, but it could be Richlands and then Abingdon. Is Tim Graham still at Richlands? He was my coach when I played at Abingdon. Great coach. He took Abingdon to state a couple of times and was always battling it out with Va. High every year for district. six4three 10 Report Share Posted October 14, 2007 the good folks at abingdon ran tim off about 5 years ago. he had an opportunity to return to coach at j.j. kelly when mack shupe left, but shupe talked him out of it, said there was no talent. tim's coaching in myrtle beach now, he's a quality guy. swvafball 10 Report Share Posted October 15, 2007 why did they run him off? must have done something if he was winning like you say....

As a coach and person, he was an awesome guy and loved playing for him. Thanks for the update.

Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted October 23, 2007 Seriously, when was the last time Graham was first in the Southwest District in baseball? I can't remember it happening, but again I'm young.

CrashDavis 10 Report Share Posted October 23, 2007 yeah for sure graham lost alot.. yost, marrs, mccoy i think, their pitching is sub par as well i believe, and then the coaching too.. I would say it will be one of the traditional powers, Richlands, Abingdon maybe
junkballer12 10 Report Share Posted October 23, 2007 Abingdon in Softball and Baseball. I seriously doubt that the all region team will be like it was last year in SB. Since the Highlands folded the SW coaches wont have the monopoly on picking their own players this coming year like they did last year. whitney3 10 Report Share Posted October 25, 2007 I doubt Abingdon will win in softball. I've seen too many teams play in the past couple of years. Tazewell and Richlands always have talented kids. Carroll is usually always competitive too.
junkballer12 10 Report Share Posted October 26, 2007 Yep they do have some talented kids,,,, but last year Carroll Co, & Tazewell softball programs both laid down at the end of the year. True Tazewell beat Va High, but when the rematch occurred they got beat by a freshman pitcher. The last comment wasnt a slight towards her, she did beat all the Virginia teams with the exception of Tunstill. Same goes for Carroll Co. When they played in the Regions, they laid down as well. Richlands was the only team that had a chance of going up the road. Abingdon on the other hand had their first winning season. They return the majority of starters and the majority of starters were under classman. I only see them getting much better.
hotwings16 10 Report Share Posted March 4, 2008 What about Tazewell? They always have a strong program and it will be the same this year. I understand that Richlands is competitive but why are they being randked above Tazewell. I have respect for Richlands but they haven't won the SWD in 4 years. But i'm sure they will be competitive once again and Abingdon should be strong. This year should be very competitive for Abingdon, Richlands and Tazewell. beaverbaseball 10 Report Share Posted March 4, 2008 Tazewell has a really good "YOUNG" team...But they don't have a one star pitcher that stands out..Abingdon and Richlands do
