hokie07 11 Report Share Posted June 18, 2008 has signed his letter of intent to play football at Santa Monica College out on the West Coast. This is the same junior college where Chad Johnson and Steve Smith played college ball and WVVA reported that he will join the team with a chance to earn a starting spot in the secondary right away. It will be great to see Bluefield being represented across the country.
GetMoney55 11 Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 This is great. With Shaun's hard work he could easily gain a starting role and hopefully be offered a spot to join a bigger schools roster and play. I hope that this is a place where Shaun can stay out of trouble and keep his focus on school and football. Congratulations.
Bogeavers 10 Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 This school is close to LA, and that may spawn trouble for Shaun. I hope he can stay out of trouble and do good for himself.
Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 The young man has been able to move past a lot of stuff in his past and to have the opportunity to attend college is a huge deal for him. Football or not, I hope he's able to buckle down and get himself a college education.
hokie07 11 Author Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 Brooks will be fine. I've grown up with him and know that he has changed for the better during these past few years...

bhs7695 185 Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 I am surprised WVVA got the drop on this story before anyone else did. Most of the time they are behind all other outlets. Erica Greenway and LeAnn Long are the first two reasons I watch WVVA.
GetMoney55 11 Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 I've seen LeAnn Long in person and let me tell you, she is very attractive.
trublue 939 Report Share Posted June 20, 2008 [ QUOTE ] why is he going all the way to the west cost? [/ QUOTE ] ..... following BDT article on his decision and why. He'll like the Santa Monica area....the surroundings are very appealing to the eye; however, LA is just the opposite IMO. (LA has to much traffic, cars honking their horns constantly, must be a requirement to get your driver's license out there to demonstrate that skill) http://www.bdtonline.com/localsports/local_story_171231922.html

trublue 939 Report Share Posted June 20, 2008 Yeah, we just drive like maniacs.....and traffic is ALMOST as bad here.... but, not much horn honking....maybe a few gestures. Honestly, horn honking out there will drive you nuts.
BHS72 10 Report Share Posted June 27, 2008 I sure hope Shaun can keep his head straight. Football wise he should do very well out there. I really wish he had the grades coming straight out of high school to go D-1 and represent Bluefield. I wish all the luck to him and Ansel both. trublue 939 Report Share Posted July 5, 2008 Here's how another young man is handling football/life on the West Coast. (This is a higher profile college but football is the lure for both) Good luck Shaun.... http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/highschool/stories/2008/07/04/butler_0705.html
