patrick co 10 Report Share Posted September 28, 2008 what are your thoughts on Harris? 17 tds, roughly 1300 yards rushing in 5 games. is he being recruited by anyone?
trigger 10 Report Share Posted September 28, 2008 He along with Nubian Peak from pulaski are the best backs in the region. Peak is much bigger and will play at Tech. Peak also benefits from a better overall team. Harris is having a monster year. I look for Patrick to beat MV, Tunstall, and maybe even martinsville. Bassett will be tough! Graham-VT Fan 46 Report Share Posted September 28, 2008 for someone to say that Nubian Peak is much bigger would pretty much mean that John Harris is a midget. Peak is dimunitive at best.
mhsalum 31 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 harris is listed as 5'10 180...and here's an impressive excerpt from the roanoke times... Â More rare than a pro athlete in these parts is a youngster with Harris' speed. Roanoke's Edge Sports Performance Center listed Harris with the fastest 40-yard dash time in a SPARQ (speed, power, agility, reaction, quickness) testing combine in March at 4.28 seconds. Graham-VT Fan 46 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 he is certainly bigger than Peak.
Cavsdadof3 10 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 Palmer from Byrd is a junior and was second in rushing. He is a jr. A different back he depends on quickness. I have seen all 3 and they are all different : Palmer- quickness, Peak- power, Harris- acceleration, lateral agility. Be hard to pick one of the three. CougarFan 10 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 Peak is listed at 5-11 190. Â Plus, he ran 4.31 and 4.25 40's at Tech's camp over the summer.

billyblue 10 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 kinda off subject but, does patrick county have any passing game this year? if not it makes his numbers all the more impressive. and is their defense better this year? last year in the play-offs it seemed like it was harris or nothing with a weak D
Cavsdadof3 10 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 Their passing reminded me of Palmer and William Byrd. It was mostly Harris with a change of pace to the fullback or a quarterback keeper.

Floyd stacked the box and held him to 131 yards and held Patrick to 14 points while giving PC their lone loss of the season. The passing game was so bad that Floyd left the slot man uncovered and they never even attempted to use him.

trigger 10 Report Share Posted October 1, 2008 Their D is pretty solid. They have speed and are big and physical upfront. They beat a big physical team in Lord Botetourt who beat Blacksburg the following week.
patrick co 10 Author Report Share Posted October 4, 2008 harris went for 239 and 2 tds in a big win for patrick at bassett, seems like the bengals forgot about the qb and let him go for a 47 yard td, .... maybe the cougars have a couple more weapons

trigger 10 Report Share Posted October 5, 2008 Patrick had 14 yards passing against the Bengals. 14 lousy yards. Being 1 demensional will eventually catch up to them like it did in FLoyd. Yes, the qb is a major run threat as well.

pdfan 101 Report Share Posted October 5, 2008 Wm Byrd and Martinsville both can play with the Cougars and Tunstall also could be interesting if they take them lightly. Harris could gain 400 yards against MV but probably won't because PC will playing on a short field all night because of Warrior turnovers. They are really bad. Look for PC to go 8-2 possibly 7-3(if they find any kind of passing game 9-1 is a good possibility.)
jrdizzle79 10 Report Share Posted October 5, 2008 John had over 200 yards and 2 TD's against a pretty good Bassett defense If he does'nt get a offer from some D1 school in the area they will be regretting it next year. Any chance u get check this kid out he's the truth
