They speech had become a tried and true fomula; introduce ordinary Americans to showcase your big new proposals that never get adopted, partisan applause at every key phrase. It is theatre and not governing. Agreed. I watch just to know what is said...the applause, as bad as it was, still wasnt as bad as the last one where one side would stand up after ever sentence end. I cant stand this "We love us sooo much" fest that goes on and its the same reason I dont watch the Grammys, VMAs, Emmys, whever other than the fact that celebrities do nothing but piss me off. a slobbering love affair indeed. I guess my point would be: High on platitude, low on content. Unfortunately no new discussion points, just the same old ones we have had for months. I will say that FREEZING spending is better than INCREASING spending, but if you have an unsustainable budget, maintaining the spending doesnt fix the problem. CUTTING the spending does.
