tbgfan 856 Report Share Posted February 1, 2011 Poquoson puts four on VHSCA Group AA All-State football team Division 3 state champion Poquoson High led Bay Rivers District footbal teams by putting four players on the Virginia High School Coaches Association first or second teams. In addition, Islanders coach Elliot Duty was named the Division 3 state Coach of the Year. Lineman Dustin Edwards was the only Islander to make the first team offense, while Islanders tight end William Haskins was picked to the second team. Lineman Stephen Boyer and Luke Hill were both selected to the first team on defense, as was Grafton defensive end Dylan Stallings. Edwards and Haskins were blocking standouts on an offense that averaged about 300 yards per game rushing. Hill had 151 tackles to lead the Islanders defense, where Boyer starred on the line. Stallings' 24 tackles for loss included 14 sacks. Other district players seleted to the second team were Lafayette running back Will Capers, who ran from more than 1,400 yards to lead the district, and linebacker De'Arius Olvis, who helped Bruton reach the regional playoffs. Three Poquoson players received honorable mention: DL Baxter Bristow, LB Thomas Garris and DB Tee McConnell. tjhokies 47 Report Share Posted February 4, 2011 Sean Overton had a great year both on offense & Defense, probably the most improved player this side of Roanoke. The RB from Grundy, Tyler Berglowe had a great year & Big time stats and didnt even make Honorable Mention, thats a Joke. Congrats to all that made the team. I don't know if this is still the case, but it used to be in order to be eligible for the coaches all-state team you had to at least make first team all-region. Every place we went to play or when I was taking pics people wanted to know who Cody Justus was...he should have been on there.

VirginiaPreps 10 Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 Yes, you have to have made all region to be considered for the Coaches All State Team.
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 Linebacker Princeton Graham Marion 6'0" 220 12 Life has many choices---eternity two I have always heard never trust a man with two first names, but someone with the names of 2 high school in the area....don't turn your back on him. When I first read through the names I honestly thought it was some sort of typo that included a team from West Virginia.
