sixcat 2,920 Report Share Posted September 1, 2012 Floyd has a very good team and will make some noise come playoff time, in my opinion. However, this is a case of Galax showing its inexperience. It had to happen eventually after loosing everything from a state runnerup team last year. Galax outgained Floyd 2-1 in total yardage including returns and had 8 more first downs. Two fumbles inside the 10 yard line and 3 interceptions inside the 20 yard line after sustained drives down the field resulted in Galax keeping itself out of the endzone. Floyd capitalized on numerous Galax mistakes and kept the pressure on a QB with no experience. He was not a backup last year and was not the jv QB at any time, but he is the best available option. Last week Galax had 2 redzone turnovers against a less than average Glenvar team. This is a very young Galax team with half the starting positions being manned by sophomores and freshmen. In my opinion, they will be tough to stop next year.
