chubzfan 16 Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 Half 10-10. Blame it on Lebanon, played stall ball the whole half. Fans didn't pay 7 bucks to watch kids pass the ball, this is a warm up tourney and Lebanon evidently wants to win a trophy I guess. Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 You play to win the game. If stall-ball is how you must play to win it, then go for it. If the other team hits its shots, then stall-ball'a going to fail. olewave
Bearcat Bob 491 Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 I well remember the Sampson era at UVA when UNC ran the four corners "offense" with tremendous results against the 'Hoos.
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 I well remember the Sampson era at UVA when UNC ran the four corners "offense" with tremendous results against the 'Hoos. What angers me most about the four-corners is that Smith ran it against Sampson with arguably the best collection of college basketball players in the world at that time. Like running "Ground Chuck" with "The Greatest Show on Earth". Completely misused that team and others, and almost certainly why he only won 2 natties in 472 years as a head coach. Can't stall every game. And those two were thanks to (1) the greatest player who ever lived and (2) the biggest mental screw-up in college basketball history. Lebanon has been down a starter all season and lost another one in the first game of the tourney to injury-sometimes you have to get creative, especially with a short bench. BigWinners 1,643 Report Share Posted January 7, 2015 That is still a sissy way to play basketball. Union's arguable best player isnt 100% healthy at all, but they didnt resort to 1950 tactics to win. Nut up Lebanon, play basketball, not four corners stall ball. BigWinners
BigWinners 1,643 Report Share Posted January 7, 2015 High school ball needs a shot clock, period. There is no reason not to implement one.

1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted January 7, 2015 Four corners doesn't have to be run to stall the ball but if the opposing team isn't willing to force the issue no one can complain.
BigWinners 1,643 Report Share Posted January 13, 2015 Damn right we can complain! This isnt 1960s Mr. Referee, this is the 2010s baby, play ball!
