SWVAgridiron 1,469 Report Share Posted October 17, 2016 The Spartans (4-3) will make the dreadful trip up route 8 to take on the Buffalos (5-2). This is Floyds best year that they've had since 2012 and the biggest rebuilding year for the Spartans since 2010. Both teams are sitting 11th and 12th so a loss in this one could put either team in the hot seat. Coach Williams made a change in the Radford game and for the first time in 5 weeks the Spartans had an offense after trailing 21-0. No disrespect to Beidleman but he just does not have the toughness to take on the tailback position. Austin Pennington who was the former wingback managed 4 tds and a 2 point conversion when moved to tailback. With the return of Chapman in a few weeks the Spartans could be a load come playoff time. As for Floyd, I'm taking the Spartans 35-14.

futbolking 766 Report Share Posted October 18, 2016 Floyd is very young this season and don't have any team speed whatsoever. They are well coached and disciplined, just lack talent. Giles wins... Floyd is a year or two away from being competitive.

SWVAgridiron 1,469 Author Report Share Posted October 18, 2016 Floyd could he Unions first round playoff opponent, could they give the Bears trouble? Have not yet seen them in person but I would say not. They've only played 2 teams with decent records and lost to both and with this new backfield at Giles I don't see them beating them either. Will be even better to get Chapman back soon. SWVAgridiron
RCITYHOO 110 Report Share Posted October 19, 2016 Floyd could he Unions first round playoff opponent, could they give the Bears trouble? In no way will Floyd give Union trouble. Union by as many as the coach wants.
nrv_football 81 Report Share Posted October 22, 2016 Wasn't much of a game. Giles dominated on both sides of the ball. Giles was more physical and pushed Floyd off the line all game.
SWVAgridiron 1,469 Author Report Share Posted October 22, 2016 It was good to see Chapman get 1 good run in even though he fumbled the next play but that bulky cast should be coming off next week. But I agree Giles could've put up 70 easily. Finish out the next 2 games at home and get ready for the playoffs! GMan
