Granted Auburn is usually pretty good as well, but the Roanoke Times article on the game said Auburn had already lost in district play? Who did they lose to? My guess is, the Roanoke Times mistakenly thought Auburn is in the Three Rivers with Alleghany. Pipestem beat Auburn Baptist Christian Academy, not Auburn High. Auburn returned everyone on a team that lost a nailbiter to rival GW in the semi's and had mltiple close battles with GW like always. Maxpreps got me on the Pipestem game (rookie mistake) but everything else checks out.
