My vote has to go to T.J. Salyer's double in the first Graham/Tazewell game. Particularly the hit on Brown.

I did enjoy watching Nathan Branch on punts. Kind of reminded me of Nic Schmidt when he was in high school. Kickers need to be able to deliver a hit too.

I didn't get a chance to see all theese hits, alot of them I did. A couple years ago I remember a fellow we couldn't wait to watch him hit. I beleave it was in his blood, I can still pitcure a few of them in my mind. Travis Tatum. By the way his brother had a few good hits this year. Good job Brett

But these guys are no longer playing so why waste time about it!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Not wasting time, just reminiscing. In a few years we'll be talking about the guys who are playing now. That's how legends are born.

The Hardest hit hands down is the one Shane Wicks laid on that guy from Hidden valley the guys helment came up in the air his jaw was cut and the ball came loose. This is the hardest hit i have ever seen in a high school football game.

Agreed! The kid had to crawl around on the field to find his helmet. The ball went straight into the air and hs helmet flew about 8 yards backwards. Luckily the kid was alright and retunred to the game.

So it was Wicks. For a second today I thought it was Simmons. Simmons recovered that fumble I believe. Bottom line: props to Wicks and to Simmons! It sounded BEAST on the radio -- wish I could have seen it.

And I am happy that the young man from HV was okay. If I'm not mistaken, he shook it off and lined back up later.

Yeah Wicks laid the hit and the ball popped out and went straight into Simmons hands, didnt even touch the ground. The kid from HV was very shaken up and honestly had to crawl on the ground to find his helmet. But he latr retuned to game and even had a pretty good punt returner later in the game.

Glad the kid was alright. That was hands down the biggest hit I've ever seen... And I was on the other end of the field. I had just took a shot of Arms punting then turned my lens towards the returner and BAM!!! I saw the helmet and the ball go flying high and far. I wasn't close enough to get a shot but Bill Patton got it so look for it in the News-Press. As many photographers that were there I'm sure at least one other got it as well.
