Bluefieldrocks those commercials are really good, most commercials annoy me, but those are classic. I like that "we hired a celebrity, little richard" commercial to.

mel grubb's done some of the best area photography for decades, he has a plane that he flies himself, a small piper cub and he goes up and does a lot of ariel photos. If I recall he might have just closed for business for good in recent months, but anyhow his store was, or maybe still is on bland st and he had most of his photos available to purchase there you could browse through in something like 12 by 20. I have a few of his prints. They're exceptional, and show overhead views of some of the area's most scenic places, many of my favorites. He's also done overhead photos of most state college football stadiums during games.

Bigd if he is still in business then you should browse through his photos at his store.

great photos. That's a view of tazewell county I've always wanted to have, that and the view from the western end of knob mountain, which is west in 1 of those photos, looking west into the cove.

I know there's a jeep road that goes up to the top of knob mountain, where there used to be a fire tower, but it's on someone's property, smiley ratliff, who lives towards the end of witten valley. And there's a big gate arund his property so you can't exactly go request permission.

A 3rd place I'd like to go see the view from is from the western end of east river mountain from up on dial rock.

Anyhow, appreciate you sharin the photos.

Did you you get anymore, specifically 1 back towards burkes garden from there?

as for wynn peak though how did you get up there, do you know someone who let yall go up there?

God bless.

I have a lot more from every direction. I just took those the other night when a bunch of us went up there.

It was around sunset, which may explain for the poor quality.

If I am thinking correctly, looking down into the Town of Tazewell is in the general NorthEastern direction. So Thompson Valley would be South/SouthWestern diretion and Burkes Garden would be in the East/SouthEastern direction, but mainly SouthEastern.

I haven't brought my compass up there in a while, but I believe Burkes Garden is pretty much straight down the ridge line.

That information may be wrong, I really can't remember all that well.

As for the dog, she is a nine year old pure golden, and is in really great shape for her age.

She is used to running all over the mountain, so she keeps in good shape and always hikes with anyone who goes up the Peak.

And on the permission question, well I just went up, haha.

My Dad owns the trail we hike and the majority of the side of the mountain and jointly owns the top.

We require people to at least ask us before hiking, because a few years ago people were taking advantage of it and spray painting the rocks and littering and such.

I will try to post some more pictures when I get around to it.

Yeh, Drew, I was going to tell him those pictures were taken from your "backyard" but I didn't know if you wanted that info posted on the board. LOL

How are things going? When you heading to school? Playing any golf?
