Congrats to Appo  !  Their D was as good as we heard and they out played us in the 4th qtr and in overtime.  Still proud of my blues and look forward to another good year next year !   Go get em Uni

Oscar Smith can't get it in the end zone from the 10 on three tries. FG try from 23 yards is no good. 13-0 Smith 8:38 til half.


 



JForest is wearing down the Woodgrove defense. Cole Scott scores on an 8-yard run and JF leads 28-7, 8:01 2Q.

UPDATE: After a chris scales interception, shoalin mcguire finds austin perkins for a 16 yard td. 2pt conversion failed. Warriors lead 34-7

 

HALFTIME UPDATE: Magna Vista warriors lead staunton river 34-7 at the break.

 

Woodgrove gets in the end zone, Jefferson Forest leads 28-14 with 4:41 left in the 2nd qtr

 

Woodgrove's Kevin Burke runs in 48-yard fumble return and Wolverines recover onside kick, 4:00 2Q, it's 28-14 JF leads

#ClarkeCounty 141-107 yard edge at half. @jordonturner8 2-3 for 67 yards passing, 11 carries for 39 yds rushing. 2 turnovers for CC


 



#ClarkeCounty stopped Lee 3 times inside own 30 in 1st half. Stopped on downs at 28 on 1st drive, FF at 4 with 3:32 left in half, blocked FG

HALF - Oscar Smith 13, Ocean Lakes 0. First time Dolphins held scoreless in a half since 2013 regional semis (loss to Colonial Forge).

 

Unofficial rushing totals in first half - #Lee - 90 - Clarke - 65. Turnovers - #Lee - 1 - Clarke - 2. Defense for both teams playing well.

 

Looking at a 6-page section so full of #HCFH, trying to figure out where to put college hoops. Good problem to have.

 

But you don't have to wait until tomorrow to read all that #HCFH stuff. It's been trickling onto http://HeraldCourier.com  all day.

Falcons are going to have to do to L Boty's Mayo what the Blues did to Rockbridge County's Mayo in '06.

 

Blues fans were holding signs saying "hold the Mayo"

 

Falcons had a couple of sustained drives--down to the 4 once  but no points. Sturgill is settling down and making some intermediate throws.  My concern is him taking big hits when running the ball.    Right now their "D" is their Achilles, hopefully Reed and staff can make some adjustments to correct that.

Last time these two played, Riverheads beat Lunenburg 31-28 in 2000. This game very similar without all of the Lunenburg scoring.

Yea,  D has been their main issue in several games this year,  hopefully they can make a few adjustments at half and make some stops.  Their O will move the ball, the D just needs to keep it close in the 2nd half and not let it get away from them.

Matt Dang scores on an 89 yard run and Clarke Co. takes a 12-0 lead over #Lee at 8:38 of third. Score came after Lee fumble at Clarke 10.


 



Buffalo Gap just 24 minutes away from the 2A state semis, leading Greensville County 41-12.

Gap outgained Greensville 277-111 in first half. Bison will receive to start 3Q. If they score, we will have a running clock.


 



This Greensville team won at top-seeded Goochland last week. For Gap to be manhandling them like this is impressive.


 



UPDATE: Magna vista has opened up a 41-7 lead with 8:36 left in the third. Mcguire found perkins again, this time for a 19 yard score.
