That's interesting. This is a swva forum. We generally talk about football in swva.not football in Texas.i don't have any authority on this page at all but in my opinion if your so down on swva then why the hell do you not get off this page and go talk to people in Texas about there football teams because quite frankly it doesn't make a damn to me and probably a lot of other peopke on here. I'm not even from gate city. But you downing them repetitively is getting old. Find something else to do

Yea.richlands has a great staff.but if we ever lose mance it would be a huge setback.those would be difficult,if not impossible shoes to fill

History means a lot man. I'm not old enough to remember but I know in the 70's and 80's and even late 90's richlands was for the most part not very good. The past 10 have been pretty good for us though. Gate city has basically always been really good. They may have "just" 5 championships in roughly the last 40 years. (Isnt that just pitiful..not in my opinion) but the other roughly 35 seasons they didn't end on top they were still very close to it generally for the most part. We all know Powell valley has 8 rings and even Appalachia 6(if I'm not mistaken) but no program in my opinion has been consistently as good as gate city in swva over the course of the last 4 decades. That's how you become a gold standard. No one always wins. But even when they don't they usually don't go down easily. "

Nobody is a bigger RHS fan than me,  I played and graduated from Richlands,  but if we are being honest,  as stated, back in the 70's and the 80's,  we were a very hit and miss team........and mostly miss,  but as of the early 90's ,  we became a much better program and over the last 12 years or so we are one of the top 3 in SWVA, and in my opinion I think top 2,  but GC has always either been at the top or near the top,  from the 70's through today.  Lets also not forget Giles,  for what they have done over the many years.  But some may not consider them " in our area and part of SWVA ". 
By the way,  yes i did say still in existence,  because while you would have a great argument a couple of years ago about who is the gold standard when Appalachia and Powell Valley were still in existence as schools, but they can't be considered now,  at least in my opinion.   They can be in the past,  but not now.  And that is not to disrespect either of those great programs,  I just simply think to be considered the gold standard in 2014 and onward,  you have to still be a school.
Anyway, enough of this subject.

Really good read and makes me even appreciate Mance and the REST of the coaches even more than i already do !   I just hope that we have many more years of getting to watch him on our sideline !  We are very lucky to have him and all the coaches on the staff,  they all work hard and do a fantastic job.

I think another big aspect is turnovers. As good as Gate City's defense has been all year our offense was prolific against them. The only problem on offense was the turnovers. We had 3 in comparison to GC having one. One of which was returned for a td. I don't think for one second Richlands can beat Wilson with 3 turnovers as we did last week (no disrespect intended to Gate City of course) I think without the pick six and perhaps another of the turnovers not happening the score could've been something like 38-21 or 42-21.Perhaps not, but just my opinion. I think we'll have to have a game like that to beat Wilson

I don't worry about rankings to much myself. If richlands can get these next two wins no one will be able to ignore that. Go big blue!

We are trying to organize a convoy of cars into the stadium for the game Saturday. We want to come in flags flying, horns honking, and making noise from the second we arrive to prove a point.

With that said, if you are coming to the game, meet at the WALMART parking lot off of exit 222. We are going to roll out to the field at 11:30. So be at the Walmart by 11:20 to make sure you get in on the convoy.

Our boys deserve a large crowd, and we need to show them and the WM fans that we mean business and will be loud and proud for our men.

Message to Richlands fans: I've been noticing a trend as of late, and that trend is that our fan base has been absent all year. I can remember driving to Hidden Valley and to Brookville and us packing the stands 2 hours before kickoffs. We always had more fans than the opposing team during the season. It's such a HUGE difference when we can go on the road and make so much noise that it throws off the home team. But this year, we haven't filled up a set of bleachers since Gate City in week 1. These boys don't have a perfect record. They lost some squeakers. They got beat convincingly. But they've grown so much. They deserve to have a rabid fan base that will follow them ANYWHERE to see them play the game. Are we really that spoiled as a fan base? Have we seen so many 10-0 teams that a 3 loss season has turned away fans?? We are ONE win away from a STATE SEMIFINAL APPEARANCE. This team is good. But so is Gate City. They need our help in any way they can get it. Remember when this team carried out the 32 jersey and promised to play this season for Cody? Well, that's still in effect. This season still means more than just a season.
 
So I'm challenging you. Load up a car with friends. Get your friends to do the same. If someone doesn't have a ride, BRING THEM if you don't have a full car. Let's pack these stands Saturday at Gate City and help our boys continue their dream. Mance shouldn't have to beg on the radio to get fans to come out. It's time to re-ignite this fan base!!! THE STORM IS COMING!!

Congrats to gate city. Sweet revenge for last year. Looking forward to the blues coming down there next week. Should be a great game

I agree. I've seen some pretty bad officiating for some richlands games this year. And win or lose. I just want the game to be decided by who had the best gameplan and plays the best football.
