South has only lost to TN 5A schools Daniel Boone (when they had Charlie Cole) and undefeated Cherokee (32-30).  South is a much better team than most on this board have been giving them credit for.

East #8 was transported from the sideline back to the field house in the back of a JD Gator vehicle with about a minute left in the game.  I was sitting in the stands right above where he was laying prone on the sideline for a few minutes.  He had to be lifted into the back of the vehicle and from his face it appeared he was in some serious pain, enough to prompt prayer from this old man!
Just posting the roster on here or making a Facebook page with it as one of the posts would be fine.  Nothing fancy required.  Congrats to those who pull this game together.  You do a great job and I look forward to it every year.

I told you GC had a shot at this. Final SS 41 - GC 37 with GC receiver getting tackled on 4th down at the 1 yard line with time expiring. Reminded me of my favorite game in this series when GC won 31-28 with South runner getting tackled inside the 5 near the end of the game. That was GC's last state championship season I think.

Nice looking digs. You mentioned getting some Tennessee schools on the schedule. This is a good year to do that as TN is doing a complete realignment of their conferences next year and there will be a lot of teams looking to fill out their schedule.

Hey Wave316, what happened to the TN side this year? I always enjoy going to all the post season games that I can make (TN-KY Border Bowl is this upcoming weekend) and really missed the TN-VA FCA game this year. I was all over the papers, FCA web site, and anywhere else I could think of but never did see any press on even the VA East-West game that actually happened so I didn't make it to that game. I know that some of the top TN players don't make the FCA game because the TN statewide East-West game is more prestigious and the KY-TN game competes for players too but I have always really liked the FCA TN-VA game and the message that it represents.

Been meaning to chime in here but time got away from me. That was a whale of a game. Congrats to both for great seasons and best wishes to Richlands next week.Looking forward to visiting Legion Field again next September with my SS Rebels.

You can't really use this to compare to the rest of VA but I found it interesting that one of the worst teams in Northeast Tenn this year (Sullivan North which is at 1 win 6 losses had competitive games with both 6-1 Union (27-13 loss) and 6-1 Lee High (62-44 loss). That tells me that while things may be "competitive" this isn't a real high level of football being played in SWVA this year.

High level expertise! Now that is a joke right there. Just a football fan who has roots in both SWVA and Northeast Tenn.
