If GC plays like they did tonight, no one is beating them. MM has good game but Ervin, Dean and the role players all played well.

Def cant see all four advancing, esp Honaker. I give them the smallest chances, followed by GC (40/60 Radford), Graham (60/40 G-Men) and Eastside (70/30 Eastside).

I'd guess one Region D team advances in both 1 and 2A. Likely Eastside and Graham, but I wouldn't be shocked if GC won.

That's so dumb. Why would they do that? Abingdon has no ties to Appo and it's closer to us anyway. Buncha jackasses. I love the town, my grandparents live there and I've spent a lot of time there, but I never knew much about the school or athletics. And Bearcat, yeah I expect them to exact revenge in baseball. It'll be BRUTAL lol

What's the deal with Abingdon, why do so many schools despise them? They kinda came in the M7 and got pushed around, out of the three major sports so far, AHS finished no better than third in any of them.

I disappear bc I don't care about baseball, I'm usually just around for football and basketball. But you obviously cared, seeing as how you noticed. There have been a LOT of great, well-respected coaches in SWVA history, I dunno if any coach could claim that honor solely. But I echo those sentiments, I hope all five SWVA teams advance and keep rolling. I'm hoping at worst three move on.

He's also, IMO, the best coach in any sport in the area. Just an absolutely fantastic coach who is respected immensely by his peers.

Woodstock would've lost to Appomattox or Union as well, those three teams were clearly best of the bunch this year.

I think Union, along with RV, were only teams to beat Wise this year. I don't think this Wise team is quite as good as years past, but they should still be one of the favorites if the guard is hitting her shots and the post player is controlling the game. I honestly thought RV was the best girls team I've seen this year but they didn't show up and got sent home early. The M7 is clearly a football/girls bball conference, once McClung is gone no M7 team is a real threat. But I do gotta point out that three of the final four Region D teams were M7 teams lol, but I think that speaks more to Richlands and VHS being down than the M7 being great.

The Union girls have been at least as successful as GC in last lil bit, they lost a title game a couple years ago as well.

It legit took me a minute to realize you meant a Union Bear lol. Maybe you can give blueinbama some tips, he's terrible at verbal jousting. Why didn't Graham try and get the game at VHS or somewhere closer than Wise? Graham played extremely well on that floor but still a long-ish drive.

Graham up 27-26 at the half. GC had terrible 2nd Q, only scoring five points IIRC.

Central girls came out hot in second half to win girls tourney after being tied at the half.
