  1. Nah that was down sideline. This one was deep middle, maybe a skinny post or something out of slot
  2. Beavers was a bit ahead by his last two years but huff gonna get there. if we can attack middle, even if it’s deep, now we can test EVERY level of a defense with elite wrs. And talk about creating running lanes for Reyshawn and Keith. these boys play fun ball,I love to watch this team frfr
  3. That pass Huff caught deep middle was such a magnificent throw and catch. Awesome, awesome stuff. If Union can complete that pass, that’s a tough offense to stop.
  4. Honaker is a HOSS. The team not the player, although he’s a hoss too lol
  5. That’s exactly how I feel after last night. F’n Brave offense just disappeared.
  6. I don’t know anyone from BSG who thought that this year was a realistic shot at a deep playoff run. Very young on both sides, lotta young kids get a lot of playing time. Experienced QB back and there’s for sure talent but I think most thought a run to Salem was more possible in two years.
  7. I’m not complaining a bit, means I get to watch the game and keep my fat ass at home lol.
  8. Didn’t realize both PV (8-9) and now Union (3-10) had a winning record v Richlands, and winning 10/13 is way more than I thought for Union.
  9. I did not know that, that’s a great fun fact.
  10. After all these years you guys still haven’t realized how unserious I take this stuff. It’s an internet message board, take a breath.
  11. So this is on WCYB on Friday?
  12. I have no problems with that at all. Phil didn’t really have a ton of success before PV and while he was handed a very successful program, he won six state titles with kids he exclusively coached. No qualms with anyone who has Turner ahead, but the gap is insignificant.
  13. I didn’t know Tom Turner. Ya got me lol. What a sick burn bro
  14. Okay, so Tom had no talent? lol go tell that to the Travis’ or Larry Huff or any of the elite, all state players roaming those halls. Sounds like to me someone bitter Phil beat Turner more in his first few years than Tom did in 30 years.
  15. It was. RV won one big and Union won one big IIRC
  16. I wouldn’t argue anyone putting Turner ahead of Robbins FWIW, I just think you can’t put Turner alone on a pedestal bc Phil, with a few more kids and better facilities, won more titles, more games and owned the head to head record. If Turner is 1, Phil is top three IMO. Same as reversed, if Phil is 1, Tom is top three. in the six seasons before Robbins took over (77-82), PV was: 4-5-1 7-3 7-3 6-3-1 12-0-1 In the six seasons before Turner took over (74-79), AHS was: 6-2-2 5-5 4-6 5-5 7-3 and Turner went 12-1 his first year, losing the state title game so there had to have been some talent there as well I’d say.
  17. It’s possible, I don’t really know. But Appalachia had won a state title before Tom, one, same as PV before Phil. I think both youth programs were always pretty well ran and prepared the kids for the HS offense. I also believe Tom probably didn’t want expensive, new uniforms or any of that stuff, he seemed to relish the hard nosed underdog role.
  18. Bob Coughlin was an assistant in 82? He must have been super young at the time, he was my drivers ed and PE teacher twenty years later and wasn’t super old then. But he was always in great shape and has aged extremely well so I guess it shouldn’t be so surprising.
  19. lol okay man. You realize Appalachia was a very good program before Turner took over, just like Powell Valley right? Did Riggs not build a solid enough tradition there? You’d think they prob wouldn’t name the stadium after a bum coach.
  20. If Union can hang 100, I hope they do.
  21. It was. That kid is a beast, he was so impressive.
  22. The passing TD doesn’t happen without a PI on fourth down to keep the drive alive when it was totally unnecessary and not needed. The guy was not gonna make the catch anyway. O’Quinn showed his toughness, he took a beating.
  23. Every single time RV needed a play, he made it. He was incredible and I hope he isn’t seriously hurt.
