Go get the win. Loud and proud. State champs. Next year we are excited to open with the reigning champs. That team that beat us seemed to be on a mission and I think they will get it done. Good luck, we will be praying for safety in travels and on the field.

Gate City is playing at an incredibly high level and if they can continue they will meet Giles in the finals. However highschool kids after 13 games, if you include the benifit game, get tired; so we will see how long they can keep going. The new playoff system is one more of attrition than of who the best team is in the end. Heck the national college champion only plays 14-15 games at most with 2 by weeks and a month before the big bowl games. To win VHSL it takes 15 games with 1 week off not including scrimmages. All about the money not the health of the kids or who is the best team anymore. Hopefully the kids can survive the playoffs. The injuries get worse every week- they are worn out , especially the teams with real schedules like these 2 teams.

We were in more awe of 71 . Peanut was very impressive as well but no awe factor. If we can keep the wide bodies off our linebackers we will win. Big big if

We had 3 freshmen starting last year. Middle linebacker, defensive tackle and quarterback. 7 got injured on the 3rd play. Hopefully this year they have all improved and will play angry. They got manhandled last year - had nothing to do with athletes but with wide bodies up front. Vengeance is mine says the devils.

Loud. Obnoxious , fearless fans with high expectations. Boys hit hard every play. Fans expect it and they rarely disappoint. We play defense and if that fails we usually get beat. But if you have a 4.2 kid find me cause I want to be his agent. Bad luck to you guys but safe travels.

Gate City is playing Friday night and Buckingham is 6 hours away. Now that is a trip.

GC is replacing Lebanon with Ridge View. All else stays pat.

I hope you are right and Lee does come around. 20 years of losing gets to be a habit. Especially with the talent that has come through . I still fully expect them to be what they are, a non factor to most of the teams they play. And I really don't see the talent just a bunch of older underclassmen who have maxed out their potential in 10th grade.

I think it just like the old GC, special teams, 31 dive, and get great defense. May need to change to move far in the playoffs. The devils hit as hard as any team and so far it is working, hopefully the trend will continue. The middle linebacker is a monster and the punt returner is extremely special, the rest of the starters appear to be better than average to good. Can't ask for much more from a 2A school with limited numbers a ND limited coach's budget.

Can Graham pass the ball because running against GC is close impossible unless you are Bluefield,WV

From the football I have watched maybe really bad was a stretch, but they are not very good comparing them to Richlands, Gate City, Bluefield, ABington, Giles , Buchingham, Marion, and several others I have seen. Just being a a-- for the Poor Lee comment. Of course if they win a few in the playoffs I will have been proven wrong again.

Not a Lee person at all. Just think Union is really a bad team . Great receiver or two with everyone else watching. The Lee game was just one of many bullet park miracles in the last 30 plus years. If they lose there are more excuses given for the lose other than we got beat than one can imagine. Most Bear fans still think they can be Gate City if there is a rematch. GC wins 10 out of 10 but not if you ask the Union folks. Injuries, receivers dropped too many passes, refs, weather, or worse than the Falcons , wet balls. Always something. Lee got robbed of their only quality win in 10 years. Possibly the only one they will have a chance at for 10 more years. I just fell sorry for the poor Lee fans.

Union cannot stop a pop Warner team from running the ball. If they win it is because they outscore Tazewell or Tazewell refuses to run the ball every single play. Or maybe both. Then again at a bullet park Union rarely loses even if they should. Ask the Lee Generals.

Love the generals but other than Norton they s till have not beaten beaten a team with a winning record in 3 years. That said I think they win this one. Appomattox runs the ball and hopefully the Lee D line can stop them. Go Generals.

Lebanon wins

GC over rated . Not. Ask ABington, Richlands, Union, or Lee. All good teams and other ABington with only one loss to the devils no doubt. Against Wise the devils could have started the band and won. Wise really sucks. I think the devil defense is pretty dang good. But if as you say they are overrated then all of SWVA football must really suck which may be the case, but I hope not. Let's not judge Gate City when they play teams that they do not really need to show up to beat, judge them against ABington , Union , and even South - they looked pretty good. Time will tell.

Lebanon hits hard but absolutely no depth. Cannot punt nor cover them if they get them off. But they will,hit you. The Tornadoes win probably easily but the boys will be sore on Saturday.

The generals have beaten 1 team in 3 years with a winning record. I wish they would go far but just don't see it.

How did come down to who,had the ball last. 13-12. Nobody could score. Overtime might have been an all nighter.

Visitors had to go hill to school. Back in seventies and early eighties. Toughest place to play. Never won a game there.

Union is 7-1 but without a lot of luck they are 3-4. They still beat Marion because they get the suspended boy #13 back and he will hit you. Probably their best player.
