Good move, right move. 

Union has had Brandon Bunch (OL) and Justin Falin (K) commit in the last week or so. Bunch to UVA Wise and Falin to E&H. 

Central just has Unions number this year. It’s almost a mental thing I think. It seems like Central overplays and Union underplays when they matchup.

I’m not sure that’s the case. I think by the points system posted in another thread, if Union finishes the tourney 3rd they will still be the 2 seed for region.

Havoc noted on another post that battle and Abingdon will be tied given GC beats Battle. Coin flip to see who hosts. 

Union will be a lock at #2. Battle still plays GC tomorrow so assuming a big upset doesn’t happen I would expect Central to be #3 and Battle #4

Kudos to Central. Depth again caught up to Union. Just can’t play a physical, tough game with 5 players. I think the zone defense hurt the Bears late, it is just to tough to rebound out of that type of defense. Guard play and turnovers in the 2nd half were about the worst I’ve seen in a while. I agree on the officiating, they were on the verge of letting that one get out of hand.

For some reason central always plays union better than they do anyone else. It almost seems like the two teams are going in opposite directions at this point. Union has been playing really well the last few weeks and I think they come out ahead in this one.

Good info.. So the regular season does carry weight beyond the regular season champ... I’m so confused!?! Lol 

That type of point system does make sense, I’ve never seen that breakdown before.

Thanks for the info. So basically regular season determines district tourney seeding, district tourney determines regional seeding. With a few oddities thrown in because it Abingdon. 

Sorry to hijack this thread. Props to the Pack for the season sweep. I said it before and I’ll say it again... everybody wins when Central loses!

I would think Grayson would be either the 2 or 3 from the SWD side. I’m not familiar with them but I read on another post I believe they are better than most in the SWD besides Graham of course. I suppose if Central loses 2 next week they could drop out. But there again I’m not clear on how seeding is affected by the district tourney. 

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe in basketball the M7 and SWD (including Grayson) have a 1-4 seed. #1 in the M7 plays #4 in the SWD and so on.   What confuses me is if it’s based on regular season play or tournament outcome. 

Well played game. Union did about all they could, just couldn’t get shots to fall late. Fatigue hurt them late I think. Union did a good job on Dean, 10 and 15 hit a few shots late that changed things. The box & 1 worked like it should but it’s hard to cover the whole floor and it’s tough to rebound out of. 

I doubt anyone on this board plays basketball for UHS so we don’t win or lose. Those kids (my own included) work their ass off and could care less about some blow hard hiding behind a keyboard talking about whatever glory days they may try to live in. If you come to a message board to get your opinion validated or ego stroked you may need a new hobby.

Until then I got nothing for you. Our conversations are about CURRENT sports, if you want to blow smoke about what a coach did 10 years ago start another thread and have a good conversation with yourself. 

The Bears are playing well, we all are happy about that. I’m sure as hell not going to bow down to some guy who just joined this board and pretend your are the guru of Union basketball. 

Boy, over react much? How many votes did you have to get to become president if the Coach Moore Fan Club? 

Then there’s no sense in having a conversation with you about it.

I’m not going to name names. I’m an adult and it’s not my place to mention kids, especially kids that have left the program. Anyone that follows Union basketball knows there has been plenty of talent walk away.
