Thanks Plywood King. About 12 years ago Marion and Richlands used to be on about equal footing in football. The 1992 Richlands team had all they could handle from a bruising Marion team that year.

I coach youth football and believe me win or lose all those boys and girls are thinking of 5 minutes later is a slice of pizza or a hotdog. Much like I am . lol

We will see how good Grundy really is after this game. They have already improved by leaps and bounds.

Does anyone think that Marion going from the SWD to the Hogo may have hurt them in the long run? Last year I thought that a weaker regular season hurt them in the platoffs. Not bashing Marion just an outside observation. I know the SWD hasn't been real strong from top to bottom in the resent past, but if you match them up against the Hogo its better just because of school size.

I wouldn't cry to bad if someone else beat Union in the playoffs. LOL. Just like I'm sure Union fans wouldn't boycott the Championship Game if someone beat Richlands before we got to them. But what a great game that would be.

The next 2 or 3 years will be better because of those players going out this year. When all of those Fr and SOs become JR and SRs they will be a year ahead of where they would have been, it's money in the bank in 2 years you will be able to cash it in. Keep your heads up.

If you look at Gman's post it was several years in a row. During that same time period Richlands has kept the Richlands vs Bluefield games pretty close even though Bluefield had the better teams, while GC has been beaten badly. During the same period the Richlands vs GC games have been close. It seems to me that Bluefield really pours it to GC for some reason, at an unrealistic level to me, and I have all the respect in the world for the GC program. I didn't know about Herron last year that would make a big difference. My opinion about the Bluefield suspensions last year, is this and this applies to all teams Richlands included suspensions are the same as bone head personal fouls they are inexcusable and should never be used as an excuse for a loss, it is the ultimate let down of your teammates period. Injuries are a part of the game and happen to all teams and are to a point a legit excuse but teams with depth can over come them. Suspensions are not an excuse and if Richlands loses a game because of this I would never uphold them.

Does Bluefield have GC's number or what. Last year I felt like Bluefield was better than Richlands even though we beat them I feel like they had a 2-TD better team than us. I feel like Richlands had a 1-TD better than GC even though we lost to them the first time and beat them by a TD the second time. Then Bluefield killed GC by a ton. Does Bluefield just match up really well against them or what? Gman maybe you could shed some light on this for us, I just can't figure it out I know GC is not awestruck by them or anyone as far as that goes. GC plays a killer schedule every year.

Hokiebird7. I was listening to that game on the radio traveling home one night and couldn't pick up the Richlands game. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep once I got home. Must have been a great game to watch.

What is the distance between Bullett Park and the Stadium that Central plays. I think it was about 85 miles from Ernie Hicks to Bullett Park give or take a few miles.

You know the ironic thing about the pregame was I was out on the field with my youth team and I missed it all. I didn't realize that stuff went on until I got home and read this. So it was actually a little true. Why would Graham do that and motivate Richlands? I feel torn because I respect UVAobserver and G-man and all the Graham posters but it is hard to uphold that kind of stuff. I felt like Mance called the dogs off a little later than usual, and now I know why. I really try to pull for Tazewell county teams but sometimes it gets hard. You want your team to be confident without being disrespectful, I know it can be a fine line. 90% of the posters on this forum are very respectful, it is sometimes hard to convey things in print as opposed to verbal communication. I would like for our county rivalries to be friendly and classy. I missed it all and maybe i'm uninformed about what was going on. I could feel the vibe while the game was going on. And by the way I thought #17 was a man he is a good player. Best of wishes for Graham going forward.

Funny how none of that stuff was even brought up during the 15 minute conversation. Should have known not to listen to a Tazewell fan lol no I'm just kidding. I kind of know what you guys mean a few years ago 2 of our coaches went to Virginia High. It made the game a little more intense but it was all in good fun because of the respect shown on both sides and also those two coaches are real class acts and also we got one back.
