Wow why the hate towards PH and Hurley? I really don't think anyone form either side has said their team can beat  GC, Graham, Richlands or Union. I think it is great for SW VA to have teams winning. What about Chilhowie? They are having a great year after two tough seasons. I really think outside of Galax there are several teams that could beat each other. Truth is and it has been said on here that Galax had its hands full with Hurley last year, and they played the same "weak" schedule. LOL

Guys I thought this thread was about the Rebels.....PH!   Don't get upset because some fans from several small schools that are experiencing success get excited it is Friday nights lights and that is what makes HS football great. Over zealous fans that think their team is the greatest thing until they get beat then yell at the coach they have been praising. LOL This season has been crazy and I think outside of Galax any 1A team could get beat on a given night. As far as the schedule teams play why does single a teams always get blasted for playing teams their own size? Our double a teams with the exception of Richlands/GC and Union are always playing some single A teams. No one questions that. But anyway Good luck to PH as they have a tough one this week with Rural Retreat coming to town and to the other Rebels I hope you guys 10-0. Would love to see some of those old Region C schools travel to the CLIFF!

Coach Norris is kind of in a no win situation, he is Sullivan North's all-time leading tackler and all-time leader in head coaching victories. He has gave his heart and soul to a school that Sullivan County has been trying to close for ten years now (and will following the 2019 school year) and that the City of Kingsport has annexed all the kids except for the poorer parts of Bloomingdale and Lynn Garden. I think he is the best coach in the Sullivan County system (yes better than Haynie at South) he has done more with less than any coach in any part of the area this message board covers, but does he go down with the ship, like good pirates do or bail out and find another job, in the end he chose loyalty over security. He has nothing left to prove and he probably won't get the new Sullivan County job because he doesn't like to politic for things. In life sometimes I am glad that we don't get our "first choices" can you imagine our lives if we all got our first choices I know mine would have been messed up bad, and I would never had met my wife of 27 years and girlfriend for 30 years. Here's to first choices and second or third ones, they work out too.

People who clamor for a new coach confuse me. For the last 10-12 years, we have been the standard of excellence in this area. We've been to 4 title games and countless other semis and regional finals. I would rather get there every year and have a chance than find another coach and maybe not even make it there. I'll stand by coach Mance until the day he steps down. He's not perfect, he makes some odd calls, but he gets you there, which is better than 90% of the area teams. Just my two cents, anyways.

Guys I love tech and Beamer but this game today is like watching single a high school football. It is time for a change......UVA also
