Based on my math (take it with a grain of salt) it is possible that if Richlands were to win its last two games and Grayson to lose the last two, Richlands could end up with more points and be the number 4 seed.
So Abingdon beating Ridgeview still has you putting Ridgeview ahead of them? Hmmmm.....
Everyone also seems to forget that Pulaski is in our coverage area. They beat Abingdon by 28 points a few weeks ago. Their only losses are by 1 point to Northside, pretty good team this year and to Blacksburg by 7. Yet people decide to rank Patrick Henry ahead of them..
I think Richlands will play Blacksburg a lot tougher than most people expect. They did last year as well. It was a 17-10 game going into the fourth quarter. However, I expect Blacksburg to win by a couple of scores at least, maybe a little more. They’re still a very good football team and as Ryan mentioned Terry is a special talent that will probably be a game changer. I just hope the Blues put up a good fight and stay healthy. A lot of winnable games in the second half of the schedule, but not if the injury bug hits hard,
The X-ray made me want to puke. But supposedly he will be back before Bluefield. We’ll how soon beforehand. Having the off week this week certainly helps.
My understanding was he dislocated his elbow. But you never know with dislocations. Sometimes they’re not a big deal and sometimes they can put a player out for months depending on the damage done.glad to hear it sounds like it wasn’t that severe.
Union was clearly the more complete team tonight. Congratulations to them. However I do believe Taylor horn going down right before the half really hurt Richlands tonight in the second half and will in upcoming games until he is healthy again, if he even will be this season. Not making any excuses, but obviously losing your best receiver and probably defensive back hurts.again congrats to the bears, an excellent team once again as expected
And I don’t think they scored anymore after the half if I remember correctly.. I don’t know if they will when this game, but go ahead and sleep on them!
They didn’t score anymore because they unloaded the bench and it was a running clock second half.
I don't follow WV high school sports so I didn't feel the need to vote on them. I'd imagine all the polls that doesn't include them are in the same boat as me. The only thing I know about them is what is written on this board. I couldn't name another high school in the whole state other than Bluefield.
Then you know who they beat last year, that they’re the defending champions, and are expected to have a very strong, potentially state title team again this year. Probably deserve a top 10 ranking.
Both teams had injuries. An Auburn injury sustained in the Bama game is a big part of the reason UGA beat Auburn last Saturday. Auburn's entire game plan is predicated on running the football, and both of their top 2 RBs were banged up...one hasn't played in nearly 2 months.
That’s why I said you can’t bring injuries into it.
If Auburn is healthy they are as good as anyone. I'm sure UCF will be fired up for that, but not to the extent as if they were in the Playoff. So, I don't think the Peach Bowl will be any indication of how UCF would've played vs. another opponent.
If they aren’t fired up for the biggest game they’ve ever been in, that’s pretty sad. Can’t really bring health into it. Alabama’s whole starting linebacking core pretty much has been injured and was against Auburn.
That's not how it works in any level of football. Granted, at the high school and Pro level you can lose the last week and get in...but the difference is that in high school, over half the teams make it and roughly 1/3 of the pro teams do. In college, it's 4 out of 125...and with the importance put on the final weeks by the committee, no one should be able to lose their final game and back in to the CFP...I don't care who it is, what the money is, or anything else. It's apparent that the CFP is all about appeasement and ratings...a sham.
Luckily UCF plays Auburn, so we will see who is correct. If they hold there own I’ll admit I was wrong. If Auburn puts up over 50 which I expect and blows them out, then what I said will seem to hold true.
