I believe you boys are underestimating the Richlands defense. Even you Richlands guys. I've been to 4 Richlands games this year(I'm not a blues fan just a great team to watch) and that defense will smack you in the mouth. Wade is a monster at linebacker and Holmes might be one of the best defensive lineman I've ever seen and especially to be his size doing work in the trenches. This D held Buckingham a team that averaged about 46-48 points a game to just 14.

I agree, this is going to be a good game. Richlands offense has so many weapons they are difficult to contain, especially with their O-line.
 
Richlands D gets overlooked, but Wade is a beast and Holmes is a play-maker. I think they can contain the run, and the pass game comes down to time in the pocket and pass coverage.
 
This game comes down to Richlands offense and Appomattox defense.

I have not watched any film of Appomattox but I cannot imagine Richlands not having a legitimate chance against them.  I know that the D of Appo is good.....maybe very, very good.
 
Richlands has a very good O line, excellent quarterback, good rb and multiple receivers who can catch and run after the catch.  I believe that at the high school level, a good balanced offense has an advantage over a good defense....I might even make the same statement at the small college level as well.  Asbury can make precise throws....the passing game will help open up the run.
 
The D on Richlands is excellent as well....strong line and Holmes plays with a high motor.  I can't imagine that defense getting abused by Appomattox...but again, I haven't seen them play either.
 
If I didn't have to go to Roanoke and back Friday, I might have considered making the trip to watch this game.  It is a later start time and I might still get a "wild hair" to do this but don't know if I am willing to handle 2 consecutive days on the road.....father time is undefeated and the undisputed champ!  LOL
 
Should I lose my senses, and it wouldn't be the first time, does anyone know how many visitor seats Appomattox accomodates?   Last thing I want to do is make a long trip and have to stand to watch the game.

Can you really get a bunch of 14-18 year olds to bed at 10:30? One of their fans on Preps said that staying in a hotel before Gate City last year made them come out "flat" and that he heard the kids stayed up all night playing around.

You can try to blame it on the penalties all you want. But the real reason you guys got beat is you couldn't stop #14 and #56.

Sturgill had zero protection because 56 and 54 rushed at him all night. He's a great quarterback and class act, but his o-line couldn't handle Richlands defense. By the way, 80 wasn't the only one getting held. It was a good game, but the excuses need to go. Don't disrespect your team by crying about the refs, they made bad calls both ways, but with the point difference, enough said. The better team won tonight

Told you Abingdon underestimated the Blues. Collins, Farris, Howie, and Blankenship came to play! Our Defense was amazing! Three sacks, 2 by #56 Holmes and one by #8 Lowe. Great game for the Blues!

I firmly believe that if Richlands hasn't had a run of success no one would say a word about people coming in. It's the same song and dance every year from the outsiders looking in. There are kids transferring to play at plenty of other schools besides Richlands. Quit beating a dead horse in the ground. Last time I checked, there wasn't a superior academic power in SWVA either, so that argument is also invalid

If Richlands wasn't winning they wouldn't be hated. The Richlands haters are the ones making excuses for Richlands winning, I find the transfer theory funny coming from a AAA school with a larger student population to gain their athletes, but what do I know? Richlands is a team, no animosity towards each other no matter how hard you people try stir the "transfer" pot. Win or lose its a special group of boys. Sounds to me like Abingdon is underestimating Richlands, please continue to do so, it would make my night

I agree Swvafan72, Holmes, Wade, and Addison all have Allstate potential. I would put Richlands defense over any other. They have the offense to go with it. Union and Richlands are top two in the state in my opinion. All of the top five are good, but if any of them underestimate these two they will quickly regret it.

Honestly guys just listening to the game I could tell a lot of questionable calls especially on pass plays but Richlands is penalized a lot why is this?
As well as these player's are coached this should not be happening. Just curious on you guys input.
