I was just too lazy to walk to the other side and take a photo of the massive home bleachers. I did film a game for Pocahontas in that box on the hill on Sept 9, 1994.
With all due respect the Tazewell QB that I saw vs Graham doesn't have the arm to pick anyone apart. He throws a decent short pass. But if Richlands line is pushing Tazewell's line back then he won't be able to throw. Richlands 35-21 IMO.
This is exactly it. If you think board members made the decisions you are fooling yourself. It is the people with the money behind the scenes making the decisions. Now that the old money is dying off Bluefield has taken some steps forward. Very small steps but there is a giant hole to dig out of left by old money.
My notes show that this picture was taken May 8, 2015. Perhaps the home side was flipped? Possibly when new bleachers were installed? Perhaps the visitors use the new bleachers and the home fans sit on the hill?
Could take route 311 out of Salem over to Catawba. Get on Newport Road to Mount Tabor Road and hit 460 on the other side of Blacksburg. lol. Only adds about 30 minutes and a lot of scenery.
Graham dropped Princeton. (Correction..Princeton dropped Graham) The WV point system is NOT like Virginia when it comes to playing down in class. Princeton would be heavily penalized for playing George Wythe as far as points go even if they win. But I was apparently wrong when I said that only 6 games were needed in WV instead of 8. So if I were Princeton I would go ahead and play. It will lower their rating but in this day and age just play. Especially if Wythe was willing. But the truth is that there is a big downside for Princeton playing Wythe which schools in VA don't have to consider when playing down.
I think that they are trying to punish the team by taking away playing time. That won't happen if they forfeit to William Monroe. I think that they should forfeit both games.
How do you keep track and make stats balance when a play occurs with a downfield penalty? As has been noted there were several holding penalties in last night's Graham - Union game. Several of which negated long gains. However after marking off the penalty from the spot there still was a net gain. Let's say the running play goes for 30 yards but there was a downfield hold at the spot of the tackle. So 10 yards are marked off and it is a first down but only 20 yards downfield. Does the ball carrier get credit for 30 yards and then 10 yards added in the penalty column? Does the ball carrier get credit for 20 yards? Let's say the same situation occurs but the gain is 5 yards gained but the penalty moves the ball back and it is first and 15? Let's say the series of downs continues. The offense goes for it on 4th down and fails. Do you have a series of downs with 5 plays? How is this kept track of in stats? I know about baseball and basketball stats keeping but not so much about football.
