  1. Union wouldn't even be in the top 5 in my poll... 1. Gate City 2. Radford 3. Honaker 4. George Wythe 5. Eastside
  2. Nothing against Union... and I know they were picked preseason number 1 in the conference... but that's the best boys team in the conference right there in Scott County and arguably in southwest Virginia. They're clicking on all cylinders right now. We're not a bad team and we got dismantled tonight.
  3. After tonight... I want Ridgeview to win the Regular Season title and get that automatic bid to the next round... Lol... Still have GC and Union one more time and Central twice though.
  4. The snow that never came you mean? Lol... The knee jerk reaction of high schools these days... Would've been better to have this last night as I have an all day task at work to complete and am hoping it's finished in time for me to get there. The girls game is what I am looking forward to seeing. The Central loss was way too early in the season to base any judgment off of... thankfully it was a non conference game. We also played Union in that tournament and struggled there also, but beat them much more soundly this past weekend. The boys game should be all Gate City. It would take probably a 40+ point night for Hunter Sutherland to even have a shot I believe.
  5. Had a lot of fun playing with a large group of people for once. Look forward to making this a tradition. :-)
  6. Well, this week should define where the Ridgeview girls team will stand in the conference race. Weather permitting, they have Gate City tonight in Scott County and Friday they are at Wise Central. Not counting the Ridgeview boys out of the conference race as far as potentially pulling an upset or two in the conference tournament either, but starting 0-2 in the conference doesn't bode well for the regular season. The loss by 2 in OT to Union shows that they can compete, but the loss to Battle hurt.
  7. Why pay for it, when you can get it for free? ;-) Oh yeah, you're not me... Lol. If I won it, I'd go all Floyd Mayweather and buy me an arsenal full of exotic sports cars beginning with a Lamborghini Murcielago.
  8. Well, I joined the Workout Anytime in Bristol yesterday. Going to try to get in an hour a day of exercise at least.
  9. I was wondering if they still had theirs... Lol. I drove through Wise the other day and was looking for a place to take the girlfriend to eat and sadly realized that the one there is now an Arby's. :-(
  10. Based on conversations in other parts of the forum, I thought the consensus was Marion was not all that good this year... so beating them by 4 wouldn't be all that impressive of a win would it?
  11. Looking ahead... the Hokies have Duke on Saturday. Since I am a fan of both, my heart is kind of torn. I have a buddy from Radford going down to Cameron Saturday, also a Duke fan. I'm jealous.
  12. Although not quite as dire as you are maybe... I am sort of in the same boat. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on Monday and although I only weigh 265-ish... I am still supposed to be quite smaller than that. So, my goal is to get a membership with the Workout Anytime here in Bristol and start losing weight myself and trying to eat better. Which means, that I guess I don't get to eat any more BIg Mozz's from Sheetz... :( But, I am committed to do my best to make this work. For the first time in many years, I feel as if I have reason to live. I'm happy for the first time since early in my marriage. I now have a girlfriend who I feel truly loves me and supports me. I have a 7 year old daughter who loves me more than anything. My first response when I was first told on Monday, was to give up. Because I thought that 90% of what I eat would be cut out. That I would no longer be able to drink the IPA's that I love so dearly. But after a little research and a good heartfelt conversation with the girlfriend, I realize now I can still eat the same foods I did... just not as much. I can still have one beer a day and be fine. More than anything, I just need to lose some weight. I think I can do this, if by nothing else, drinking more bottled water and cutting out soft drinks and spending 30 minutes at the gym each day. Good luck Ryan and thanks for sharing.
  13. As sweet as it is... If I had to choose between the two, I would've chosen that this win happened last week against WVU. I hate the Mountaineers with a passion ever since they ripped my VT car flags off of my car.
  14. Going to be gloating about this till the rematch later in the season in Charlottesville. Lol...
  15. I have been to the tournament for 15 years straight now with the exception of one season. Once again was a blast, except for the moronic Sullivan East fan who said Virginia has no talent. I think GC_Devils knows who I speak of there... Lol.
  16. I sent an e-mail to vapreps last year inquiring about a writer position for the site and never got a reply... I wrote a weekly blog all season with 2A West predictions.
  17. I have to agree about the Richlands stadium... that home side and bathrooms are very much in need of modernization. That being said, a lot of stadiums recently are being brought up for renovation/replacement. The Bristol Pirates are looking to move away from Boyce Cox Field and to the Tennessee side because of the terrible seating and bathrooms there as well.
  18. Next year, you all will go down. I didn't join the board till a few weeks ago, so that's the only reason sixcat didn't crumble this year. :D
  19. I'm not just going to beat everyone on here... I'm winning that million for picking all winners correctly... Not....
  20. I checked it out for the first time on Friday night. It's a nice gym, nice looking, don't get me wrong, but I think Clinchco is better. I doubt I will get to another home game at all this year unless Union or Gate City is on a Friday. I will be at the away games at Lebanon, Battle and Gate City and possibly the Coalfield tournament at Uva-Wise depending on who the other teams are in it. I normally go to the Arby's, so the Coalfield tournament would have to be stacked for me to miss the Arby's.
  21. Yeah, I mentioned to a buddy last night, I don't think ever has winning the regular season conference championship been more important than this year in the CMD girls. I wouldn't want to be that 2-4th seeded teams in the conference tournament having to worry about being the one to secure that second region berth out of the CMD tournament.
  22. Ridgeview lost to Central 57-56 last night, but pretty optimistic about it. At least the Wolfpack showed that they will be able to compete with the Central's and Gate City's of the conference.
  23. It will be a successful season for me if they beat Tennessee and Tennessee only next season. My hatred for the Vols can not be quantified.
  24. No offense taken man. Even though I am a FC employee... I can't say I shop there all the time... Lol.
