I'm at Holston and Lebanon. I'll update from here. Rural Retreat at Northwood is also tonight, so three games in all. This Holston and Lebanon game is huge for Region 1D playoff seeding.

The first couple of years of Ridgeview football, they should have went further than they did... notably the year they lost to Grayson County in the first round of the playoffs. Not saying they should have got past Giles in year 1, but they shouldn't have been playing them in the first place if they took care of some of the games in the regular season that they shouldn't have lost that year. Tiller was probably the best coach they have had and they ran him off as well as Edwards. Mullins' offense works in 1A ball, which is why it was successful at Clintwood. In 2A you need to mix it up a bit. He never adapted.

He is I reckon... a pleasant surprise has been James Colley on color. I guess coach Colley won't be in the booth this week since it's a Tennessee game, but I was amazed at how good Colley was in the booth at the Union/Central game. I'm going to guess next week's game will be D-B at Science Hill since it's for the region title and two playoff games at home.

I'd like to see Ridgeview get Shelby Valley back on the schedule. It was always a winnable game for them plus it was the only regular season game Shelby Valley lost both years Ridgeview played them, so they got nice power points from them both years. Shelby Valley plays in a weak 2A conference and is never challenged really in their regular season schedule.

I think Virginia High looked better than Ridgeview tonight. Granted I've only seen both once. But I don't like a Virginia High and Ridgeview matchup in the Wolfpack's favor. Virginia High can sling it. Ridgeview can't defend it.
