Why waste 2 months of weight lifting and conditioning with him?

There might be some guys around that would like to help Darren out now that he is home. But right now the X’s and O’s do not matter. We have to go back to form tackling, blocking, and securing the ball before we worry about running plays. But Darren ran the offense in 2010 and 2011. Shared it in 2009 with Gilbert Smith.

They extended him for 1 more year after last season. This season is now over with a repeat 1-9 season. The coaching duties should be taken before too long. Not sure if it will be tomorrow or next week or when. But I would assume it’s coming in the near future. At least everyone in Gate City hopes.

Nothing pleasured me more than posting a winning record vs Phil Robbins in my playing career. 5-2 overall. Fun times, especially when he called our offensive line out in a video by the KTN when they did video interviews.

What? I was stating 4 more days of Akers at Gate City. I didn’t say anything about anyone going anywhere. Other than Akers hitting the road.

Akers was/is in over his head. But he applied and wanted the responsibility. But 2 candidates said no and Akers was the 3rd option, which kinda forced the hand of the SB. But last year (other than 2 members) they should not have extended his contract. The man man needs a job, I just hope it’s not in Gate City next year.

I hope he gets his walking papers after the final buzzer Friday night.

1) I’m happy for TW 2) I don’t think GC can get any one else to play. Volunteer and Eastside were going to be picked up. Volunteer wanted to play us in Virginia’s week 1. I reckon GC admin doesn’t want to drop Richlands because week 1 is their only spot for us. Can’t get Eastside because none of the other teams on the schedule are willing to move to a different week. I think they should play with the OPEN date myself. Right now with GC not being a playoff program, it does no good having it Week 11. Need it around week 4 or 5.

Gilbert could take defense linemen and turn them into fullbacks. Offensive genius.

I have not seen a single GC person say that GC will be back on top immediately when a coaching change is made. IT’S A START!!!! I have made the comment, “it’s a step in the right direction”. Nobody said that GC will go 8-2, 9-1, or 10-0 under Reed in 2019. If a GC fan believes that garbage, he/she is a fool. We have 3 years of BS fundamentals (or lack of) to purge from the kids memory from Varsity to Little League. It’s a huge process. But a change, the right change, is a step toward fixing this mess. I don’t understand how that sounds like 2019 playoff berth, M7 champs, and State champs. But hey, I get all the hate, it would suck to be 2nd fiddle to Gate City for a few more decades. I can’t blame y’all for wanting to continue to see GC down for the count. That’s why you all want to continue to see Akers at GC. It would suck for other schools if Akers was no longer at GC killing the program. Enjoy it while you can because we’ll be back. And hell, we don’t know if the SB is gonna fire Akers yet. If not, I hope it’s remembered by the fans come election time.

Ah, Or is it? Wendy’s has admitted that the “chocolate” frosty is actually half chocolate and vanilla. They thought the full on chocolate would overpower the burgers and fries. Maybe vanilla is the balance that makes the frosty perfect.

I’m glad the kids continue to fight through the adversity. I hope the seniors can go out as winners in their last game at Legion Field. I say it’ll be another close game just like last week. Can the blind squirrel find another nut? GC 33-27

Colobro also said when he ditched GC in 2009 that he would never be on a HS sideline again. But like you said, who knows who will end up back at GC.

Hypocrite It wouldn’t be the coach’s fault. Not his fault the talent isn’t there.

I’m happy for the kids. But I’m tired of Akers being the leader of the blue and white. That’s all.

As along as some members agree there needs to be change this time. I believe Houseright would come home under the right conditions.
