Washington Co. School board had a meeting last night and the head coaching position for Battle wasn't on the agenda and the next meeting isn't until June 3

And that player is definitely not a D1 player or we would have heard something about him.

Word circling around Battle is that if Reed gets the job, he won't have much to work with. A lot of the main players on the rosters said that they aren't going to play for him and either transfer or focus on other sports at the school. The boys have gotten sniff of this and held a players meeting after workouts and were not happy about this. A lot of them are friends with the boys on Abingdons team and have heard what kind of a coach he is.

However I could see this hire since Mr. King is now the Principal at Battle and Reed was his boy.

I believe that is the goal. They’ve played three good teams Richlands state runner ups Graham champions and Union

They have some very athletic boys walking the hallways but a lot of them choose to focus on playing one sport.

They've made it the past three years 16' vs Richlands, 17' vs. Graham 18' vs Union.

This board has been pretty quite, has any one heard any rumblings or rumors going on. I just checked Washington Co. website and it's not posted.

Only five saw significant playing time throughout the entire year

Those words were never wrote, all I’m saying is you start looking over teams and you get beat. Didn’t Ridgeview go from 2-9 to 9-2 in a year. So why can’t these other teams do that.

Don't forget about Battle, they only lost three off their D and four that got playing time off of O. They put up tough fights against everyone but Abingdon and PH. The big question is who is going to feel Stones position.

Hopefully they will hire internally and keep the momentum and energy that Stone brought to the program.

I'd expect Gate City to gain more athletes once Sullivan County decides on when they are closing schools.

Lebanon dropped Battle stating they didn't want to play after agreeing to play at the end of the season. Battle has picked up Marion this up coming year and will have 6 road game

Why wouldn’t they make Holston the benefit game, playing them during the regular season hardly gives them any points

Has anyone heard anything on Battles schedule?? I believe that I over heard back in the fall that Sullivan Central and East wanted to schedule games with them this year but that the AD did not want the change and that he doesn't like to venture out of his box.

I heard Battle offered to send in a helicopter but Unions coaches turned it down 😂

I just heard that Union vs Battle is now tomorrow at 2

It doesn't matter what school you go to the kids don't care about the stadiums history or what the field condition is like when they play, it can muddy, pristine grass or turf they don't care as long as they are out there competing. To them playing on Friday is all that matters not whether they are playing at the Stone Castle or Bullitt Park.

Any chance this game gets moved to a different day or different venue such as UVA Wise???

I've heard they are doing construction on a new field house at Battle and that water isn't draining well off the field
