Bluefield has been down the last couple of years and they’re in a class with James Monroe who beat them last year and Williamstown who has been pretty dominant in A. Scott was good last year as well and you also have Wheeling Central. Maybe when those middle schoolers get to be juniors and seniors.
Princeton may have an easier time of it than Bluefield then. Yeah, their middle school team was tough this year.

With WV going to 4 classes next year Princeton has a legitimate shot to win a state title.
They won’t have to deal with Martinsburg anymore.
WV playoff system is so watered down now I’d say the Tigers have a legit chance for sure especially as you said without Martinsburg in Princeton’s class. Bluefield will probably coast in AA also.
Best wishes to him! Parents have to do what they think is in the best interest of their kid. I could be wrong but could be dad is thinking he’ll get more attention & looks at Princeton or could just want to go back to where he’s originally from. Definitely , a big loss for Graham but hopefully, they can coach someone up to fill the gap. The middle school team was solid, maybe some good talent coming in as freshmen.
The girls aren't ready yet. They will be in about 2 to 3 years ready for class 6. There are about 15, maybe up to 25 schools in VA girls right now that would beat them. I think they have losses to Deep Run and a severe beating (around 30 pts) by LC Bird this year within Virginia.
The boys coach at JM is also a good floor coach and that goes with the great talent. I don't know about the girls coach on floor coaching ability.
With these successful and dominant open enrollment HS coaches with AAU and D1, sports agents connections in cities or large suburbs, they usually move on after 5 dominant years to the next level, and the dynasty moves onto some other High School. Charlotte, NC, in HS football is the perfect example as well as Texas, and in the Northeast in HS basketball.
I hope whichever girls’ team wins Friday night goes to Richmond and puts a whooping on JM. Nothing against JM girls’ personally, they’re kids just situational desire to see them get beat, lol!
Wheeler grew up in Atlanta before moving to Hampton. He later moved with his mother, Deborah Davis, from Hampton to Richmond’s North Side prior to last school year. He went directly from Hampton’s Lindsey Middle School to John Marshall High’s state championship varsity a year ago.
Last summer, Wheeler was a dominant force on Team Loaded AAU that posted a 40-0 record while claiming a national title.

Anyone trying to compare what JM does to SWVA kids going across town, neighboring county, or if they live on border county going to VA/WV/KY/TN is mixing apples & oranges. Was it last year that JM had one singular kid that was truly a kid from the area originally? I think a couple posters hit the nail on the head! JM coach is padding his resumè to move on to bigger & better things.
JM could sweep Class AA boys & girls! They might as well become a gloried prep school and just travel the nation playing likewise programs. If they had any ethics, they’d petition to play up to 6A. That’s where they belong if they’re going to be a public school. It would at least more competitive for them.
I think Graham lost at Lebanon by 6, went ice cold and beat Lebanon at home by about 25 pts. Thar gym down there ain't no joke. It's like putting a basketball goal in the middle of an open field. Gmen better get thst figure out.
I think Honaker can beat Auburn. I'm picking Auburn, but Honaker won't be intimidated one bit and coming into the game thinking they can win. Auburn by 7 pts.
VH vs Graham. Just seems like Graham can't beat em in a close game. I'm going VH by 6.
In girls, I'm going Central close over RV as Wise has been there and done that and I think that helps. RV can beat Wise, but I think Central Wise gets the w by 8.
Eastside and Honaker. Toss up. I have no clue. I'll go Eastside because of the previous win and their run last year having been there and done that. Eastside by 6.

Yeah it's 2-1 I'm throwing that out cause it's 1-1 with the team they both have now. I think in the last 2 meeting Graham has won 7 of the 8 quarters, va high jump up big last game then lost every quarter an just held on, this game can go either way
If Graham gives them 12 points again right off the bat, it’s going to be tough to pull out a win. Graham is capable of winning but not letting the Bearcats have a run like that at the beginning of the game.
I don’t think this shocks anyone, I posted in this thread I believe or the other one that Graham is a terrible matchup for GC. Those guards ate GC up after the half and they couldn’t just feed it to GG.
I figured it could go either way. I’m still concerned if Graham gets in foul trouble in any given game. They tend to have some really dumb fouls.

Graham went up 8-0 to start the game, then led 21-16 at halftime, then jaydyn carrico blitz Graham with 19 in the 3rd quarter, she had 9 at halftime and ended up with 36, Graham won every quarter but the 4th, the M7 is just on a different level in girls but still the best game of the night
The main issue I’ve seen in the few games I saw is that Graham is lacking in basic stuff & tend to have a lot of turnovers due to lack of ability in things like dribbling, passing, etc. So, Jayden Carrico almost outscored Graham herself? Crazy! Is she a Senior?
Just got news that an assistant coach from Castlewood got this job. I don’t understand why they would hire another local guy when they had so much interest from guys out of state
Somebody should stand up to JM and do something crazy at the state final game.
What if you inbound the ball straight to them every time you got it? Let them just shoot layup after layup for 32 min. Make a total mockery of the game.
It would probably make sportscenter when they beat a team 300-0 or whatever it would be.
That would embarrass JM and the VHSL so bad they would do something and it would be the end of JM in class 2.
Tonight will be a snooze fest for the M7 will walk all over the swd, the only game I could see being interesting is Graham vs Gate City, Graham girls are scrappy, they play hard, they're the most improved team this year. Still Gate City might take care of them handly that's just the 1 game tonight to keep an eye on
