Don't forget that he bet the farm Bluefield wasn't beating Ridgeview. I'm not saying he loses that bet but you never know; Bluefield is still Bluefield!
-
Union & Bluefield probably strongest teams Graham has played but I'm just a nobody who knows very little đ. Bluefield is better than their record. It may be a tight game between them & Ridgeview. Graham is improving it seems in typical fashion. Defense is just nasty. I'll be honest, I'd prefer not to play Union again, lol.
-
Hereâs my take away from the past two weeks, Graham has other weapons who can step up in place of Clements. Clements is obviously theyâre best RB & possibly best player but I have to give those guys that have stepped in his absence & Shockley in Meadowsâ absence a lot of credit. I was admittedly a little worried about facing Pulaski especially with the different type of offense but Grahamâs defense was phenomenal tonight. Congratulations to Tony & company for having those boys prepared offensively & defensively. Could have done without the penalties but I think some were questionable against both teams but still canât go into the playoffs giving up 100+ yards in penalties. Good job tonight, GMen!
-
Probably Shockleyâs best game , 2nd half especially . Heâs improved a lot.
-
Player of the game, Grahamâs defense in my opinion. Although, offense doing better 2nd half.
-
Both teamsâ defenses doing remarkably better than their offenses in my opinion.
-
If Iâm not mistaken this is the first team Graham has played where QB goes under center.
-
I donât know if any other teams play tonight other than Pulaski/Graham but letâs get this weekâs party started! Good luck to everyone! Hopefully week 9 is injury free for all our SWVA teams!
-
Nobody is saying Graham is âtruly that much betterâ. I just found the proposal amusing is all with the âspecial seasonâ comment. Just picking at you!
-
Under your proposal, Tazewell with a higher enrollment than Graham would get out of playing Graham to help create a special season for them?? Did I understand that correctly? Lol
Since VHSL wonât ever do that, letâs just go to top 6 in PP & give top 2 a bye week 1 of playoffs like someone else suggested. Thatâs not perfect either but itâs better than top 8 but then again itâs all about the almighty dollar not really the kids.
-
Top 4 in PP is plenty in my opinion for each region but itâs all about money for the VHSL.
-
Wonder what they had the Graham/VH game? If it was accurate or not. Someone , maybe you said as the season progresses it gets more accurate but I donât know at what point that happens. It also doesnât account for players who are out, weather, penalities, etc. so many factors can determine the outcome but hey, Iâll take 35-14 if thatâs what it ends up being, lol. I think it could be close. Glad itâs at Mitchell. Those Thursday night away games are for the birds.
-
I was just picking at you in good natured fun but I certainly hope youâre right with that prediction. On a side note, any word on how Dixon is doing? I hope his health issues are better. Heck of a coach, I hated he couldnât stay coaching. It seems coaching staff is doing pretty well this season though even without him at the helm.
-
I will say Tazewell has great community support for the boys. Every group of kids deserves a community that will support them in good times and not so good times. Tazewell is fortunate they have that support. I hope it continues even if Coach Harris leaves.
-
Itâs okay, we donât mind as long as your team doesnât win đđ! Root away! đ
-
Maybe they keep forgetting their password & make a new account đđđđ. Stranger things have happened! If they have duplicate accounts for the fun of it. My head would be spinning try to keep up with extra accounts, talk about multiple personalities đđđđ.
-
He will not be back until next week.
-
I donât know how deep they go, one game at a time but they certainly have the right mindset. I credit the coaching staff instilling that expecting to win mentality. Two teams with equal talent can have two totally different seasons if theyâre not confident and thinking they can win every game they play. If a good team goes into a game thinking theyâll lose, you can bet they probably will. It separates winning culture programs from mediocre programs. The GMen are strong, physical, fast, & a good group of athletes and are having a very good season thus far. Wishing them a great game against Pulaski!
-
Pulaski seems much improved overall & offense definitely seems better than last year. Hopefully, Grahamâs defense makes enough stops to give the GMen the win & our offense can put enough points on the board. It will be a hard fought game on both sides of the ball in my opinion. I have full confidence in our coaching staff to get the team prepared. The team showed grit & determination in trying circumstances and I think theyâll do the same this week and squeak out the win.
-
Practicing June 17th in helmet & pads, is that even allowed by the VHSL? I thought there were specific time frames for beginning regular practice sessions & use of helmets/pads. I could be wrong just asking for someone to clarify.
I donât think coaches can force kids to lift weights in the off season. I think itâs optional. Once again, I could be wrong.
-
I think Lebanon wins but not more than a touchdown probably. By the way what position is the Richlands kid playing for Lebanon? I presume not QB. Yâall didnât need a QB. The one you have is a good talent.
-
Does Bluefield go to Ridgeview or do they play at Mitchell? Bluefield can defend the pass offense and theyâve got speed to burn; Fuller was on the money last night; they may give Ridgeview a run for their money. It could turn into an upset. Iâm not saying that happens but I dare say most people didnât expect the game last night to turn out the way it did either. Records donât always reflect accurately on a team. I said that once before on here in reference to Bluefield this season & was mocked by another board member. I still stand by that statement. Donât count the Beavers out against Ridgeview!
-
That's pretty hideous đ As far as the game, Richlands put a hurting on Marion, I would expect Tazewell to do the same but then again, I didn't expect Bluefield to have a blowout game against them. This season has been full of crazy stuff!
-
There's some explanations in score update feed from a couple of Tazewell folks.
-
The GMen stepped up last night. They will still be missing two key players, Meadows at QB/LB is still not released to play. Graham will have to manage offense without their best RB.
Pulaski & Graham are both heavy run teams. This could be a classic ground & pound game. I can't see Pulaski not figuring out how to plug the holes unlike VA High. I also think Pulaski is improved over last year. Graham has also proved they can adjust and have other options on offense. Defense is just plain nasty. How is Pulaski on LOS?
Thoughts?
