Several boys quit the team after a conflict between head coach and an assistant who is no longer on coaching staff. Administration (superintendent) supposedly shut it down per social media post.

I don’t think it’s safe to give any of the top 4 M7 teams the nod. It’s crazy in that district right now. It’s literally a toss up till the end it seems.

I’m appreciative they rescheduled the game. I hope they find another one so they can participate in the playoffs. Unfortunately, Graham played the most important game of their season in the spring with less than three days of practice. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. I hope that game proved to be a great learning experience for them as post season approaches this fall.

I believe Graham asked Bluefield to play twice when George Wythe canceled. Bluefield declined.

Now this would be a game I’d go watch granted Graham wasn’t playing at the same time.

Harris is a great playmaker & Creasy is good at getting the ball to his receivers & running backs. It’s nice to see a local talent possibly break VHSL records.

I don’t think I made it seem that way but if I did it was unintentional. I was just clarifying the point someone else made about Delaney & Thomas not scoring while varsity was in and not having a lot of yardage. I personally think both kids are stellar athletes that were up against a strong defense that was able to stop them pretty well. VA High’s weakness is their schedule in my opinion, my opinion being the key word. A weak schedule hurts when you play really good teams.

I don’t know what yardage they had before the Graham starters were pulled but it wasn’t even close to what they’ve been putting up. I don’t think Delaney scored at all and Thomas had one score the last 4 minutes on the JV. Taking nothing away from either one, they’re both quality players but Graham’s defense held them in check Friday night.
