Unconfirmed. Third hand report. Heard Giles dropped their game with private school North Cross and picked up a game with Grundy on Oct. 10th. Can anybody confirm or deny this?

Auburn has 25 players. Should be ok for the season barring injuries or quitters

I see Auburn and Craig are both open on 9/23. Their game was cancelled in week 2 cause Craig didn't have enough healthy players. Odd they're both open on the 23rd and haven't scheduled to make that game up then.

Yeah, Giles got pushed down field by GW and Galax. But even at that, never really gave up any big plays, quick scores. I don't see Narrows being able to push them down the field and have long TD drives. Narrows is going to have to have big plays to score. If GW and Galax, didn't do it, with way, way, more muscle and talent, I got my doubts Narrows can. Guess we'll see.

Giles won big last year with a sophomore dominated team. Hey, those same guys are juniors now. Giles won the last 2 seasons JV games. So where did this sudden athletic superiority of the Green Wave come from?

Although they've had a great won/loss record over the last 5 to 6 years, has Narrows actually beaten a team in that time span that had a winning record or finished the season with a winning record?

Man, what are you talking about? Pulaski won a state football championship 40 years ago. That automatically qualifies them as one of the elite programs, year in and year out, in Virginia state history. Get with it Man

Yes. He is interim head coach at Pulaski this year since Dixon's sudden retirement.

I've been told that Radford has put in a lot of low income housing in recent years. My guess is that might of brought a little boom and also explaining a drop in numbers at Pulaski County

I'm with ya. Makes no sense that a school and community that takes great pride in their athletic programs, can't get participation numbers up for football. My personal opinion is since Cam Akers took over as head coach, participation numbers dropped off year by year. Kids just didn't want to play for the guy. Last year, he cut and ran last minute, when it became apparent he wasn't going to have enough players to field a team . He left that program in really bad shape, after inheriting a program in pretty good shape. Like I said, just my opinion.

Auburn Facebook is reporting 29 players out for practice on Monday and Tuesday. If that's total, I'm guessing no JV, but should be able to field a varsity team

Cam Akers left the Auburn program in pretty bad shape. Kids just didn't want to play for him. PC better watch out.

Don't think they're listed as part of the area represented on this board, but the Blacksburg job has been very quiet. No rumors or anything that I'm aware of.
