Looks like it ain’t gonna be like last year period. Lol

didnt say they would win. I just reminded everyone how richlands was wrote off last year. however it was still a successful season and would have been successful if we only had one win as long as the one win was over the bull pups.

I’m favoring Central in this matchup. I do believe it’s gonna be a game to go watch. Go Luck to both. Another thing, is regardless of who wins I believe Ridgeview is gonna lay it on whoever they play rather it be Richlands or Central.

didnt we see the same thing said about grayson county and ridgeview against richlands last year. we all know how that turned out.

  3. RV gave up tons of yards to the run against union. Abingdon has a stud RB that is physical and fast with a big O line to run behind. Abingdon gave up yards to richlands run game as well and seemed to tire late in the game on the D line. This game will come down to one thing and that is which defense can find a way to slow the others run game. Throw the passing game into the mix and I will have to give the advantage to Abingdon.

I will have to give the edge to the falcons because of their passing game. However if RV can utilize their qb and good wr to stretch the falcon secondary the game will be up for grabs. This is a difficult game to predict but with that being said I will take the falcons in a thriller.

  4. While this intro was fairly entertaining you all missed the real point. That point is which of these two teams will take their post Richlands beat down frustration out on the other.

Tazewell has suffered injuries that have decimated their talent at skill positions and Marion looked young last night. Each have wins this season but have not performed well against their tougher opponents. Marions QB looked pretty good but did not have the time to look for open receivers while the run game was lacking. Tazewell still has some skill players to rely on and a big line.

With that being said I will take Tazewell in this battle of the step children. Their speed will be too much for Marion.

  5. Even though you were being sarcastic it still brings up a good topic for teams playing cupcakes. getting Their goal of not playing tougher competition may be because they know they can win and obtain a higher seed for the playoff with the hopes that playing at home will be to their benefit.

As for rebuilding I will agree that a weaker schedule is the way to go for a team that has been down for several years. Getting some wins may be the only way to generate some excitement and desire to play in up and coming kids. This however is hard to do when there are a couple teams in your district that are big dogs each year.

  6. You really cant assume 1-4 will win all the time. Just take a look at Richlands last year. They played grayson/Ridgeview and were the underdog in both.  Also an earlier post asked why do you play harder competition during the regular season if you get the same points for playing down. The answer is simple. You play harder compitition so when the playoffs come you are battle tested and ready for the caliber of other playoff teams. Playing weaker teams during the regular season sets you up for a letdown in the playoffs. Just ask the above mentioned teams that Richlands beat in the playoffs last year.

  7. Look on the bright side canes. you will get either union or RV the first round so the playoffs will be over quick. I for one would be happy as a pig in mud if my team were the 8th seed and got to play after week 10 no matter what their record. But thats the way i am. always looking for a football game even if my home team is not playing.

  8. didnt adkins miss some game time a few weeks ago and then come back in and run the ball sparingly? dont want to put a bad luck curse on the kid but maybe he was injured in that game instead of suffering cramps like was reported. This could be a reason he was coming out in 3rd downs and didnt look like himself. However I will give some of the credit for the low production to the Union D. Those kids are tough.

  9. can you give an example of how they were cheated and what years because I can only remember one time since forever that the dogs have been competitive. That was the year they should have went for two in the playoffs against Richlands. All of the other games in recent memory have been blowouts.

  10. Just wondering why Richlands was pulled into this thread as the "all mighty Richlands". Don't think I have seen a Richlands fan call the Blues all mighty on this thread this year. They are in a down cycle starting last year but are still playing well. They don't have the talent that other teams do so some teams are getting a little payback for the past 10-15 years. Its going to happen no matter who the team is. Please lets keep this thread all about Union and Graham. Go to the Ridgeview/Richlands thread to discuss them.

  11. sounds good. it will be good to see a strong GC team back on the field. with the way the kids played the last few weeks it seems to me the kids have the talent and the want to. you are also correct about having the right coach for the future. with the right man at the helm I think the kids will be there waiting when the new season comes around.
