  1. Lebanon is coming off a much needed win... Virginia High is having injury issues, what's everyone's thoughts? I think the Pioneers may make it closer then it should be, but I think the Bearcats win it. 28 to 14
  2. Does anyone have any news on the Castlewood player who was taken off by ambulance? Prayers for the kid and his family.
  3. Congratulations to my Pioneers on the win against Castlewood tonight. All the hard work is starting to pay off. Enjoy the W, but on Monday get back to work a tough VHS team is coming to town. Also congrats to Seth Stanley for the 1000 yard season thus far. Everyone please remember the Castlewood player who was taken off in an ambulance in your prayers.
  4. That is a possibly true. Give Lebanon a couple of seasons and they should be relevant. They have a solid group between 6th to 8th grade coming up, if they continue to play football.
  5. I know Lebanon has had it's struggles this season, but I'm going out on a limb and saying the Pioneers beat the Devils for the 40th year in a row. I think the Pioneers speed and athletisism is the difference in this one. Pioneers 21 Castlewood 14
  6. Sorry not this time. Marion rolls 35 to 7 I've seen GC, I'm guessing about 7 turnovers again sounds right for them. You can't win if you can't hold on to the ball consistently.
  7. I'm just hoping the Pioneers stay healthy. A surprise would be nice, but it isn't going to happen. The pioneers are too young, lack depth, and inconsistent. They've yet to play a full game at their potential. Sorry Pioneers but we will be 0-6 heading into a showdown with the Devils at homecoming, which looks like it could be a good one. Graham 50 Pioneers 14
  8. Sorry not this time. Marion rolls 35 to 7
  9. I agree the Bearcats have talent. I wonder if the loss of Amburgy is a factor? I think It will be closer than many people think, but depth for Abingdon will win it. Abingdon 42 VHS 28 I will see the Bearcats in a couple weeks at Lebanon. Don't underestimate the youthful pioneers, they night just suprise and make it closer than it should be.
  10. Now the Pioneers are 0-5.....they are young with some talent...in a couple of years they will make some noise I believe. I'm hoping for a win on homecoming against Castlewood, which with some of our good athletes is doable I think.
  11. Even though my pioneers are 0-5, I just want to say I'm proud of you boys. Keep fighting day in and day out, wins will eventually come. Keep fighting LHS Go Red!!!
  12. This is nit picking lol, but Lebanon is 0-4 not 0-5, last week was a bye week for the pioneers.
  13. Chilhowie wins with ease, 42 to 21. Virginia High is a good team, but they aren't as good as last years version. I have a feeling they may lose a game they shouldn't in the next few weeks as inconsistent as they have been at times.
  14. I'm sorry, but football is just a sport, it's not everything. I have issues with school systems that give athletics too much importance. I love sports, don't get me wrong but it shouldn't drive academics. In Gate City's case, it sounds like a mess, which is sad. That being said you have a group of kids who seem stronger in other sports, it happens. Your state basketball title speaks for that. Eventually you will get another group of good football players. Even though it's tough to see, Gate City has had it's fair share and then some of success in football. Most schools would dream to have your legacy, be thankful that you have that history.
  15. I was impressed with Hidden Valley, they were way better than their record. They had a solid QB, WR, and HB, that picked the falcons apart. Supposedly they only lost to a team that was undefeated by 1, so they are a pretty decent football team.
  16. As a teacher, you don't just consolidate just because of bad football. Scott county still ranks in the top 20 as far as test scores in the state. Sports are important, but they should never drive consolidation, economics and the potential to offer better academics for all students should. It's all a cycle, eventually the football teams in Scott county will improve. Until then support your kids, they deserve it.
  17. Congrats to Honaker on the win...it could have gone either way. The pioneers will get you next year. I still think the Pioneers will surprise some teams as will the Tigers.
  18. Stoots 81 yard return 14 to 7 pioneers.
  19. Correction, the post on the Cumberland says Castlewood won the Russell County championship last season, they did not. Lebanon beat both honaker and Castlewood, and have the trophy to prove it.
