This is a done deal..I bet after the next board meeting they will set up an interview processes that is “fair”. If you are a coach outside the county. No need to waste your time Coach Stanley has this on lockdown
probably don't have to interview if an internal transfer is happening, many school systems are that way i think. Oquinn will be fine and probably have a bigger year, coaches dont make athletes, athletes make coaches. coaches are needed but most really good coaches also have really good players
i talked to someone today and they said he was Interim HC as of now. will remain that way they thought for the season and then would go from there. didn't know if they would hire this year, or wait and see, but i'm thinking he will be the head coach if he wants to be, been around football at haysi and now ridgeview for a long time. wouldn't be surprised if colley helped him in a partime role either since colley coached him and they coached together for a long time but that is speculation by a lot of people
IDK IMHO Frazer is one of the top coaches in the area The Clintwood program was in Horrible shape when he took over and he built it up to a state championship caliber team Then repeated that in Ridgeviews 1st season since then RV has been consistently one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the region (And given how tough the region is you could argue the state )
All I have to say for anyone wanting to run Frazer off be careful what you wish for because you just might get it
he does a good job. probably just one or two parents who are made wanting rid of him and trying to make it seem like something that really isnt a big deal. ive been upset with him before also but you cant argue with the success he has had.
Well, the VHSL was probably thinking rationally. They were thinking the highest remaining seed (Graham with a higher power rating than Central) would play the lowest remaining seed left (Ridgeview) and Union would be at Central. The VHSL got it wrong of course, but in one way, they at least gave a reminder (by accident) to Region D about how the second round actually should look like.
i understand you dont want Union again, makes sense, but that might actually be the better matchup for Graham as opposed to Ridgeview. not watched Graham enough to say for sure but Ridgeview when they are making plays is just as tough an out as the other two m7 schools still in. im sure Central doesnt want to see them again.
Hence why we had issues with Graham and Bluefield. Richlands was a loss due to the rain plain and simple. Some may say excuse but it is what it was. Didn't get to see RH game and V High was lots of inexperience overall. Games that our line was able to hold up on we could pass all over the field.
ive wathced a few of centrals games on nfhs and i followed ridgeview closely last year and the players for central are mostly the same. there really isnt much of a pass rush so although I think central is the better team and will win i think this will be a much closer matchup than many think.
i have read this post and have seen all the talk about the defense being the problem but no one has discussed the 4 turnovers, 3 giving central a short field, and 3 by the offense. i'm not saying the defense wasnt at fault and i dont care about the game. just seems the offense also can be blamed. maybe it was discussed in the central/union thread i haven't been on in some time and havent read through that one yet.
if union can be stingy on defense and keep consistent with offense mixing it up between the backs/qb running, it'll be a close game. central defense pretty solid, offense busts big plays but can they sustain long drives?
i agree and having watched them a couple of times i do not think central can sustain long drives. they either bust it or punt. I think union in a close game
I apologize, to the Graham G Men and Tazewell Bulldogs players and fans,on my previous posts. I am wishing them well, in the play offs. We have too much division, in our country, thanks to our leaders, in Washington and Richmond. Also, region D were not transparent, in their rules, from day one, and changing rules, at the end of season, is wrong. Richlands players and staff did not deserve, the final decision. I did not attend RHS, moved from another state, to work in Tazewell County. I have friends in Bluefield, Tazewell and Richlands. Go GMen, Bulldogs and Blue Tornado !!! Have a bless day !!
yes you all really got screwed because of a rules change, not because you lost to the two teams ahead of you. i will tell you who got screwed in all of this is us, ridgeview. Union gets in over us and we didnt lose to them. they get blown out in back to back weeks and get in over us. maybe they are better than us, but i doubt it.
Yes. I think they dropped the ball on this one. Tie breaker based on power points would have been better. Richlands will come to play knowing they have a shot at the playoffs. I'm sure Grahams coaches will have them ready. Tazewell should open that offense up more.
i dont disagree with what you are saying, but if they all played the same schedule with one loss wouldn't power points be the same for the 3?
I will go respectful different direction. I think they can. I am amazed with how well Central is coached. They seem to me to be coached at a level beyond the overwhelming majority of their opponents. The blocking is textbook. The positioning on defense is textbook. A team like Central that can truly run it well and run it when they have to and play great run defense is a threat. I favor Graham slightly, but not by over 7 points. Tazewell, I would call it equal. Central matches up better with Graham than Tazewell. The size difference can wear on you and in a smashmouth run type game, Tazewell will be very tough to beat.
i understand what your are saying. you sound like you may be one of the central coaches however, haha
Surprised this game wasn't talked about a lot this week. from what i saw on tv union looked bigger, central seemed well prepared. not the game i was expecting thought it would be much closer. central is not as good as i thought they would be at this point in the season, don't think they can challenge graham or Tazewell but you never know.
Ridgeview will not be able to throw the ball at all with their current QB. Receivers running wide open and he just chucked the ball up. The last offensive play looked like he just dropped back, threw it as far as he could and hoped for the best.
he may be the guy and do very well, i just don't think proven describes him that well. just a wording disagreement i guess. i will say this i heard he was interviewing or interviewed for the richlands job so who knows
he took over a year or so after they went to a state championship. posted a 16-18 record and then left about a week before the season started after 3 years when it was obvious the talent was gone
If that's true, really surprised they wouldn't select Tiller unless he just doesn't want it. Taking an assistant over a proven head coach is odd to say the least.
After reading some of these posts one thing is for sure. if they hire someone to be the next coach from this board they will win about 5 state titles in a row
the fact of the matter is he is unstoppable to anyone in region D. even if they lose he still gets his stats. hes extremely talented and with our qb back to 100 percent we are going to be hard for anyone to handle
If they stay away from the triple gun an with Poe back they should have a chance. If the coach had threw the triple away after the loss To Abingdon they would have been 3-2 or maybe 4-1 and may not have had the player losses they have.
If they dont run that what will they run. thats all i can remember them running for years now
Any coaching jobs coming open?
