someone must be a galax fan and got a little butt hurt when talking about their RB. he is soft he hates to get hit, sorry truth hurts

LOL, no I'm not a Galax fan, i want GW to win. Just pointing out some of the things you was saying was way off base.  Maybe I took your smack talk as you being serious.

northside played their middle school team in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Ive seen galax play not much team speed wont be able to hang with cole simmons, reyvon wells or brayden thompson on the outside or passing game. gw may just boat race them. Their RB who went to fort chisewell and transfered to galax is soft as charmin toilet paper and gw is like john wayne toliet paper, they dont take crap off no one!!

I think you just exposed yourself as someone who is bitter about something or is just a troll who is upset that Brown left FC. because you have mentioned him several times negatively in posts. He went to school here as well before he went to fort and I never saw him shy away from contact even as a young player.

    1. Go watch the YouTube video of the Galax Northside Game and you will see Northside starters where in the whole game.

    2. The RB is certainly not afraid to hit someone. Watch any film and you will know this.

    3. And the funniest comment - that Galax has no team speed is Ludacris. They have speed in bunches.

We will see Next Friday and there will be a very good chance we will see them again in the playoffs.

    31-14 GW

There is no way Galax  is held to 14 points in this game. Northside didn't even do that. High scoring game on both sides.

GW will throw up points as Galax doesn't blitz much and doesn't get much pressure on QBs. So that certainly plays to GW advantage. But their D line is nasty against the run.

  5. George Wythe has two weeks to prepare for the big game with Galax. Will Harner and team throw up a bunch of points against Galax as they have the rest. And can they stop Galax in turn? They  played great against GC Friday. Thoughts on this one?

I've yet to understand Topper24's dislike for Chilhowie????  You always seem to be negative at the comments anyone posts about Chilhowie.  You're still bringing up last years state semi final game, really?  Chilhowie, not the VHSL, earned the right to have that game anywhere they chose, by having more power points than Galax.     I know it easy to get wrapped up in a conversation and I've been guilty of it myself.  However, build them up, don't tear them down.  This goes for all teams in Southwest Virginia.  These kids, thats right, kids, they all go out there on Friday nights and give their all, not only for themselves and their teams, but their communities as well.

I am not negative against CW have nothing against them or the kids ..my issue was with the statement that they have better support by fans than others. Then I just pointed out facts when someone said they have had more success than union. Again nothing against chilhowie I was speaking to the statements.  As far as the kids you right it's not he kids it's the community and administrators that made their special run last year beliddled by heir necesstant crying over the playoff field. The rest of the state was laughing. They should of showed the class  to move the game against PH instead of making the kids stand in inches of water on the sideline.  Like the class showed by Glenvar and Radfords that moved their games.

Again not the kids fault.hope they have a great season, and have a possibility of being there again, but facts are facts.

Oh yeah that's right my bad. That was such a big shit show anyways lol. They should have just played the game on a Monday or something, but that's all in the past, and we got a great game on Friday that should be a great measuring stick to see where both programs are at this year. Can't wait! Sorry for the misunderstanding Topper.

I agree I believe it will be chilhowie biggest test until PH. And Narrows biggest except for Giles (which I think they get them this year) Although I think Chilhowie comes out on top  in a close one. And they could very well end up playing each other again in the semi finals.

Are you saying that Chilhowie called the senator to move their ballgame last year away from Chilhowie to damn Northwood?? What?? If that is what you are saying then what was even the point of bringing that up? Why not just stay on topic about the great game that is going to be played on Friday?

Um, no they moved it from Emory as they felt the vhsl was trying to hoodoo them by making them play on a turf field and not mud. please try to keep up. The OP went away from the game discussion I just responded to his original post.

Yes that’s what I’m saying. I would put money on it that if you got to a Marion PH or GW games at 6:45 you would have time to grab a hot dog and get to your seat before kick off not the case at Chilhowie. Chilhowie also graduated 18 seniors and still rolling. But now that I think about it you are right they arnt the next Richlands Graham or Union because they don’t need tazewell or J.I. Burtons best players to be dominant

Two years of having good seasons don't make you an elite program, especially in small schools where talent cycles.

Again the records speak for themselves.

But your correct  they dont have as much support , they don't have a state senator calling in favors with the VHSL to move a ballgame!!!!

Unless I’m mistaken, Chilhowie has had more success than union in the playoffs so I’d have to say yes they are

I believe your perception is not reality.

Since 2011 when Union become a high school

Union record 77-22. Chilhowie record 55-18

In fact up till two years ago chilhowie had a losing record through 2011-2016

    Union 55-18

    Chilhowie posted a 29-39

If you want to go strictly by playoff success then chilhowie won a state championship in 1970

The schools that made up union have 14 state championships between them since 1980

Again a couple of years of semi final trips does not make Chilhowie a power yet.

I think it is safe to say that Coach Robinson has mastered the art of getting his kids to buy into a program. He has been doing the same thing on the baseball diamond for years. Chilhowie is quickly turning into a Richlands, Graham, or Union type program in 1a for this side of the state. I was honestly shocked about the amount of drop off that didn’t happened from last year. Now when you think about it those kids that are starters now have gotten a whole season worth of extra practice in the last 2 years that other teams that missed or didn’t go deep in the play offs have missed out on. Add that to the fact they were practicing against a pretty dang good group of seniors and have a master motivator in Coach Robinson makes for a pretty dang good team. I also think community support helps a lot. On top of packing the house for every home game they have some of the best facilities in their county in almost every sport and it’s not even close. As long as the regions continue to be split like they are expect chilhowie to play on thanksgiving at the worst for years to come.

Chilhowie is quickly turning into a Richlands, Graham, or Union type program in 1a for this side of the state.-- lol two years of success past the district level does not make you a Richlands and Union. Let's be honest here. Do you really think your kids are more supported by your community than PH, Marion or GW?

I get having pride in your program. But your not there just yet.

    Lol,you haven't played a true passing team..

    Where's the game this week..lol

Salem has turf, can't be there it's

It's got to be a tough prep week. CH cannot get a state delegate  to move the game to a grass field.

They don't have the advantage of the visiting team having to stand in water on the sidelines.

Riverheads doesn't throw but a couple times a game, so cannot not hold the receivers every play.

Haha,. I kid, I kid. Goodluck to the Warriors Saturday.

Seriously though, as much talk as there have been, If they loose that noise you will hear in southwestern corner of the state will be the town of Chilhowie imploding.

He got it from me on Facebook.  Happened right in front of me and the ball definitely hit the ground before he intercepted it.  Before you get all upset, I was on the Chilhowie side and were pulling for them.

The official who made the initial call was standing behind the play, there is no way he could see if he caught it. The second official who made the call was coming in from the side, did not signal until he saw the back  judge make the call. The ball clearly skipped on the ground Into his hands. That call  and the knocking down of Galax receiver while the ball was in the air the first play of the second half that lead to a big interception return was game changers.

The DBs was being aloud alot of holding. Chilhowies DBs was extremely aggressive and I believe it was part of their game plan to risk a flag versus letting their receivers get separation. Even after they got called multiple times they still did it.  A couple of times Galax had a couple of big hits on Cale that was probably late.

I don't think the Rebels and the Canes were the only two fan bases that noticed how much crying and slobbering Chilhowie did on Social Media about the change of Venue!  Take 20 minutes and look at how ridiculous Chilhowie's fan base looked for the entire state to see!

Unfortunately he is correct here. The way their fan base acted on social Media was embarrassing. Even at the game their fans was still saying that Galax was to blame for the move.  Even the announcer 3 or 4 times would announce (we would like to thank Northwood for letting us have our game here) and the crowd would go nuts.  Unfortunately even if they win that is what the rest of the state will remember. You know it's bad when the director of the VHSL was dishing them on TV that they thought it was a move  to help Galax. And to ask a delegate to get involved lol.

I understand that it really just has been the past two years that Chilhowie has came on the scene and the fan base Is probably more excited than most schools, I get that. But with all the talk and expectation placed on these kids if they don't win it will be tough on them. The town may actually implode.

As far as a link, go to Facebook and type in Chilhowies field. It will take you hours.

On another note Sanchez gets alot of publicity and understandibly so, although in my opinion, Cale is what makes the team what it is

Galax is not very good ! If you think the Warriors can play the same way against Riverheads , you are wrong ! Riverheads will put 35 on them and let them score against their second or third team .

Galax beat the 2C champs by 20.  They are not only good, but quite good.

Galax may not have played their best game yesterday or was good yesterday although anyone who watched the game will tell you they have talent. Their D line was very, very good. If anything yesterday shows you Chilhowie is legit. In 5 out of 5 games are they 3 TDs better than Galax-No. Although Chilhowie is not a fluke, good enough to beat Riverheads? We will see. But to say that Galax is not Good shows you are  either trolling or do not know football.

  16. Reading your last post and not being from Galax I cannot tell if you are throwing off on Galax or complimenting them.  So I looked up some stats as it looks as though you listed how the seasons ended in every year except 3 since Dixon has been there. Two of those was state championship appearances, one they lost to Clintwood by 3 and the other they beat Riverheads. The rest I believe they was only blown out two of those games.

I heard on a podcast this week that Galax has 3 of the top 5 single season rushing records in VHSL. The single game Touch down record as well as single game rushing record against a  Graham team.

Not many schools can claim what they can. If that makes them a Spade, then I truly hope one day my school can be called a spade.

VHSL should have stood their ground with their approval and announcement on Tuesday that the game would be played at Chilhowie.

Northwoods field does not look bad.  It just looks like dormant Bermuda.  It is crazy the twists and turns this has taken though.

The story coming out of the roanoke press rumor mill is the reason that the vhsl changed their minds, the first people that was sent first was from local schools. I don't know which. After a couple of PH fans contacted them about the game the next day  they decided to send someone from Charlottesville to look at it and they decided that it was unfit. If they moved it like the others because of safety and game sconditions they should have left at Emory and not cave because a politician through his weight around.

  18. Look I understand your and their concerns and disappointment.  Although the post I have seen in social media this morning about calling Galax a bunch #$$##0because they didn't want to play in the mud and they are the reason it got moved is petty and simply not the case. That's not how the VHSL works, three games got moved. I think the surrounding areas would be more simpathetic to the communities complaints if all that was not being spewed all over social media. Galax had no say in it, the school admins no this to be true yet they continue to let their community think this is the case. Look Galax beat us twice this year and I am all for Chilhowie getting the win, although people saying what they are social media is just making Chilhowie look bad. To be honest it is placing an ugly blemish on what is a stellar moment  for your community. I completely get the financial impact to the community, I heard Galax had went out and spent a couple of thousand dollars on new cleats for their players just for this game.

I am sure their is people on here from Chilhowies administration reading this, so step up and ensure the misplaced anger at the fans of Galax is placed where it should be on the VHSL.

Sorry rant over and good luck.
