Because you post stuff that's false trying to stir the pot.

I'm the only one allowed to stir the pot.

Don't like it?  I can take care of it...

How does one take care of it? When you threaten someone you should make sure that your words can't be misconstrued. In today's world of screenshots and never lost data it's hard to walk back the things you say.

So with that said I'm going to give you the opportunity to explain just what the heck you mean by " I can take care of it..."

    Blacksburg D4

    Jonesville D1

1989 ... it was a great year for southwest Virginia football. All won State Championships in their respective divisions.

I believe it was the last year of existence for Jonesville. Graham defeated Blacksburg in the regular season.  Graham's only loss was @ Salem but Graham returned the favor on Salem in 1990.

88 was Jonesville. Appy won it in 89.

Interestingly ... I also watched that YouTube replay last week. I was there in attendance in 1989 ... great memories! After watching ... including numerous times before ... I had that gut feeling that Graham would roll into Big Stone Gap and wallop Union! Therefore, I drove 3.5 hours to witness the game and I'm sure glad that I did.

    Chalk it up to ...

89 was a special year. I believe a couple teams in Region D went home with a state championship that year. One of them even repeated the next year.

You're just full of inaccuracies aren't you?

Union formed in 2011. GC's last state championship was 2010. Since 2011, GC is 3-8 against Union.

Richlands has played in one state game since 2011, that was in 2016.

Some people are full of something, that's for sure.

No disrespect at all to our seniors. They busted their butts and laid a solid foundation for success, but I firmly believe Union will have more team speed next season. I'm interested in seeing what Satterfield,Honeycutt Rasnick and co will do stepping into bigger roles.

It won't help if they don't have some kids get in the weight room and step up ready to play in the trenches next year.

Actually Graham was the visiting team with Bluefield this year. Technically speaking, it wasn’t a home game.

    Ok, let's rephrase.

One good thing for Central. Graham's only losses this year were at Mitchell stadium. 🤔

On a side note, why do posts disappear from the forum if they are non-derogatory, non-profane or non-abusive?

I despise the entire concept of bye weeks in high school football.  6 team regions do solve the problem of truly unworthy teams getting in but gives an unfair advantage to the schools getting byes. A week to rest after a long season while the other teams are fighting their guts out against strong competition is HUGE imo.

Life's not fair in many ways but the top seeds usually earn their seat at the table by playing a tough schedule and wining. It should give teams motivation to play a tough schedule and win. With what we have now you could stack your schedule with weak competition and cruise into the playoffs well rested.

I definitely wouldnt call the system broken, 1 additional week is added with some bad games and no deserving team will ever get left out. Its not perfect but broken is an overstatement imo.

I still say a East/West format with only 8 teams per side. This season the 2A playoffs would be

    1 Ridgeview /  8 Richlands

    4 Radford / Graham

    3 Union / Gretna

    2 Appomattox / Central

the worst record to make it is Richlands at 6-4.   Gretna to Union and Central to Appomattox are long trips but the others arent too bad

A 6 team Region bracket would make more sense. Top 2 seeds get a by-week first round.

I hope they can because it brings attention to Southwest Virginia. But it just getting harder and harder because of the student populations and employment situation..

Not sure the teams in SWVA are that greatly mismatched since realignment in 2013. Yes Appomattox won 3 straight but 3 teams west of Roanoke won also.

Union is not going to win a state title, probably ever! But they are good enough to win this game even banged up a little. If Gate City had any depth at all they would be an upset threat but they just get to worn down to finish games.. I want to be wrong but the head is smarter than the heart.

Ever? That's like saying GC will never have a wining team again. You are right on one thing Union wins this one.

  11. A good in-house program that focuses on teaching kids fundamentals and has the support from high school coaches goes a long way. One of the strong points also is the number of kids that get to play and develop. Not to mention you are learning the playbook from 7yr old up.
