  1. Galax was up 35-0 when jvs was inserted.
  2. The Riverheafs beating of Tazwell is all of the sudden way less impressive after going to 5 OT with a very very bad 1A FC team.

    hol vs rr

The fact that the number 1 team 1D got took to the wire by a team that was thrashed by 40 points by the 4 best team in 1C does not bode well for them.
  4. Riverheads beat starts draft 48-7 in 2019. They are an impressive program but should be beating everyone in 1A with their enrollment. They will always have an asterisk beside their titles in 1A due to that fact. They should be in 2A and not skate the numbers and stay in 1A. No school stays at that consistent of enrollment year after year. Look at the Giles and Graysons of the world. It has darkened 1A ball because of it.
  5. I have watched Riverheads play every year since 2015. Besides their 2016 team this year is the best I have seen, if not the best. If you think anyone in 2A would win easily you are being a homer and fooling yourself. People act like they don't play anyone but 1A schools ,where as the vast majority of their schedule is 2A schools and they have beaten the 2A state runner up the past two years in regular season.
  6. Pulaski a 4A school getting thrashed by a 2A Graham. Is Dixons job in jeopardy??? Hearing rumblings out of the NRV
  7. Grayson county is not as bad as some think and not as good as others think. Lol. defense is legit and will keep them in a lot of games. Example they held Giles and that offense in check. Our weakness is the offense... the fact that we are running a spread type O without the athletes to do it successfully. We are just don't have the line or skill people. We will have a much better gauge after the GW game in two weeks if a contender in playoffs or not. Possible to get Giles again in second round if make it. Chilhowie struggled with a team that GW hung 40 on and have two more tough games ahead of them. And Holston struggled with a team that Giles hung 41 points on and that was a rivalry game. But the way Galax has played the last few weeks is scary. They seem to keep getri g better. They held Graham to 7 points at the Half and 28 total points with their whole receiving Corps out and six starters missing the game. They did whatever they wanted against Fort and hung 35 on GW without throwing the ball.
  8. Father by far. Elite players don't get held to Minus 1 yard games.
  9. I don't know if they are better than Giles. They was In a very tight game with a depleted Narrows until third quarter.
  10. No disrespect but saying Chilhowie having the best 1A coaching staff in this side of the state would be highly debatable much less saying they are better than Casto and staff at Riverheads!
  11. Chilhowie and Holston have quietly put together a undefeated 6-0 and 7-0 season thus far. Chilhowie's remaining games are VA high, PH and Holston. That's a tough group of games it seems. Holston remaining games are a much easier slate. I have not paid much attention to 1D this year but for those in the know can you shed some thoughts. Who is the better team and how does either stack up against the teams from region C?
  12. You think they would run from Bluefield?
  13. Thanks Sir, sounds like a fun game to have attended. Wish I would of went instead of GW /Game.
  14. Being on the outside looking in at both programs during the game tonight. I don't see what GW could have done much differently on offense. Galax just shut them down be in the running game, runs to the outside was chased down all night and everything up the middle was stuffed constantly. The most successful play was the QB read where he lept the ball and ran around he end a couple times and that's because the DE bit on the dive. The passing game was a bit better, your QB was rusty rightfully so but Glaax had good coverage most of the night. On defense you had guys in position many many times but just got ran over or juked out. Galax had receivers running open all night the QB just missed them or was dropped. It was a scheme it was an out athlete in that regard. And as far as seeing heat Galax has In a few years you are probably going to be severely disappointed as their Jv is stacked. Is there a dripnoff from Dixon to Allen? Absolutely, as there would be with 90% of anybody that followed him. Although the drop off will not be as step as many would hope. Galax just has talent that reloads every year. I hate to say it but we are all going to have to go through Galax for the foreseeable future to win the region.
  15. Yes our AD is a giant tool. Small in stature and big large idiocy. I apologize on our behalf, if the game hadn't been close they wouldn't have said anything. On another note explain what happened in the game as I went to Galax /GW game. As I figured it would be a blow out here in Independence by Giles. Very surprised.
  16. Grayson county, has some good looking unis. Carroll County always has a cool look as well. Galaxs are horrid.
  17. Galax played by far and away its best and most complete game of the year Friday night. If Galax can have a repeat performance I would give edge to Galax. Allen opened the playbook wayyyyy up compared to the first 5 games and it was a huge difference. Galax has played a tough schedule the first half of the year with Glenvar on 7 days of total practice, against a hard nose Giles team, then a battle against Radford. Not to mention having to go against a really good Graham down 5-6 players. It's been brutal. Now they need play flawlessly as they need the points and Giles and Parry McCluer are clicking and not mention Grayson county has quietly put together a 4-2 season thus far.
  18. For those who have seen both. Ehonlooks like the better team Holston or Chilhowie? Holston surprised me with the PH game. That's impressive after losing a lot.
  19. Hell I thought he was at the Giles game. 🤔
  20. Grayson county33- Auburn 0 Grayson looked good but poor old Auburn, I was impressed with those kids itn would have been easy to just give up this season but they have played on with less than 20 kids it looked like. Galax 48- FC 14 GALAX looked the best they have all year by far. It looked like Allen greatly opened up the playbook during the off week.
  21. Looks like a very good chance region 1d will have the points to host semi finals again this year over 1c. Unless those three knock each other off. Holston and PH have nice fields.
  22. I feel as your statement has a lot of merit and truth to it. Avoiding Graham and a Gaurantee loss and therefore dividing by less games for points gives them a edge for playoffs which is crap if that is the case. Maybe not, I hope not. But if so that's just bad. Take the Galax team that had to open against Glenvar after missing a week of practice and a scrimmage then turn around and play Graham with out their whole receiver Corps and so one said six totla starters. Which can certainly come back to hurt them in playoffs the way Giles and Chilhowie is playing currently.
  23. Yeah I think they threw a couple of wide receiver screens and end around run but didn't try him down field any I don't think.
  24. According to stats he wall held to negative 1 yard offensive production Galax way smaller line held up great in my opinion and opening drive drove 70 plus yards but With Galax whole starting receiving Corps out they was forced to run all night and Graham had 10 men within 5yards of line of scrimmage all night. Grahams eventual talent and size wore down in a depleted Galax. But I still think the outcome would of been the same but I felt Galax would of been able to score some points if they had everyone and could of backed Graham off the ball. My biggest surprise was the lack of Grahams success passing.
