After last years run, expectations were very high coming into year. I’m not saying they should be on Graham’s level, but you’d expect a ton of improvement from one year to the next. Running the coach off has upset a lot of folks. Legit or not legit, I have no idea.

Don’t know about the end of the game, but I thought something was about to happen before halftime. There were a bunch of parents yelling back and forth. No police at that time though. Now my question about Tiller is, were the allegations true? If they weren’t, (apparently Honaker didn’t believe them) he should find a way to take them to court. Because that is dirty. I’m sure every county in SWVA has this problem, but nepotism is a huge problem over here. Just look up and down all the county offices.

Rv was awful tonight, but I’m not sure their A game would have beat the Beavers.

I’m going to say RV finds a way to get it done and wing by a td. Setting up the showdown at Gate City for the district title and an undefeated season.

Im surprised that Grant (the AD) hasn’t put his foot down. I was worried the first time I saw the about being brought to the sideline every play against Burton. That is a complete waste of time. This offense should be running a modified hurry up most of the time. With a short to intermediate passing game. That would open up the running game that could work some.

The fact that Beavers doesn’t touch the ball a minimum of 15 times a game is coaching malpractice.

I don’t get it. This team should have smoked every opponent they’ve had. They may lose the next 2 games if these coaches can’t understand the short passing game.

I wasn’t alive for the 70’s so I can answer that. I can say Dickenson County may be small, but there always seems to be great athletes.

The first year did have some injuries that hurt. Especially in the first game against Jenkins. Which was a horrible scheduling job. I agree that Mullins lost his fast ball the last few years. The Richlands playoff game was a bad loss, so was Grayson County. I tend to cut him more slack because of who he replaced at Clintwood. Those were some really underachieving teams in 90’s. Especially, 1996 and 1999. As for Tiller, I believe he was a good coach. Who knows as to the reasons he left are true or not.

Why would Rick have changed the way he called plays? He only had a few losing seasons out of nearly 20. He got the RV foundation built. Plus he made 3 state final appearances winning 1 of them. Rick Mullins and James Colley are 2 that don’t seem to get the recognition they deserve for what they did in the county.

Clintwood and GC played a few classics from them till 2010 when the GC program went downhill a bit.

I think they should cut it to 6 and give the top 2 seeds a bye week.

I agree with this. The defense agains Union had a B+ game. Gave up a couple of throws and one long run, but that was really it. Same against Central. The only team I’ve seen move the ball on them is Grundy, and that doesn’t to appear to be as bad as we thought on week 2.

I’d like to see RV drop Burton or Grundy for another 2A or higher team. I don’t mind 1 class 1 team as the 2A schools should help the lower schools out, but no more than 1 or 2 on the schedule. Hopefully they can keep Bluefield, or get another out of state large school.

I’m not surprised that Grundy won tonight, but the manner in which they did was very impressive. 1D looks like a 2 team race with PH and Grundy on a collision course. Don’t know much about Lebanon, but it sounds like they are getting better. Probably won’t reach where these 2 are.

That Ridgeview @ Bluefield people is getting more intriguing.

I wonder if Al Michaels is regretting this TNF thing. He is bored out of him mind, and he doesn’t care to let you know about it.

This should be a really good game but I think Union but a td sounds about right. Home field should give Union the advantage.

I forgot to mention this. But the music selection by the p.a. folks was good. But please quit playing that puke orange “Rocky Top.”

RV first drive of the game good, and then the rest of the half it looked like the first day of practice. I don’t get all the deep balls either. Especially, when they would run a screen or short pass it seemed to be a big gainer. Union was conceding the short passes. This is 2 years in a row where RV has slow first halves of games just to turn it on in the second. This should have been a 3 score win without all the mistakes. No way it should have been competitive in the 4th quarter.

You are definitely correct about Gate City. I did like Ridgeview’s run defense tonight. Other than the long td it held up pretty well.

After tonight, RV just needs to turn O’Quinn loose. I thought the pack was going to participate in the whole 1st half tonight based on the first drive. Then the predictable stuff and the endless false starts began. How do you have that many in one game at this point in the season? Union and Central should be a good game when they play next week. RV may go undefeated depending on how the trips to Abingdon and Bluefield go.

If you love penalty flags, this was the game for you. Union couldn’t stop with the personal fouls and RV couldn’t get lined up on offense correctly.
