We do need to give the GC coaching staff some credit. They made a very simple adjustment getting out of the spread and going to the power I. That along with the packs lack of discipline ensured their victory.

Injuries and sickness have killed any chance RV had this year. Hope O’Quinn’s injury isn’t too serious. Don’t like seeing anybody in a neck brace and hope it was all a precaution. GC played a good game tonight, but this was a really sloppy game. It wasn’t until the 2nd half until you could get 3 or more plays in a row before a flag was thrown. A side note to the refs, if you are measuring for a 1st down, don’t pick the ball up and set it down again once the chain is stretched. I’m sure there was a legitimate reason as to why they did it, but it looks really bad. And you shouldn’t have to measure when you are walking off a penalty.

I think the top 4 in 2 D all advance. The big question is in 2C. Can Radford hold off Appo in the 2nd rd?

With the talent next year, I’d like to see him go under center some. Go to a single back or I formation. I don’t think they’ll have the game breaking receivers but a good play action passing game being run dependent will give them their best shot,

That was probably Haysi’s best team of the Colley run. They were really good in the early 90’s, but Giles got in the way a couple of times.

That’s amazing that JIB has gone so far down. It wasn’t too long ago that they were the premier team for a few years in the old LPD. JIB and Richlands fall have been amazing to me. I’d say Richlands will be back eventually but Norton will be hard pressed . Especially with 2 solid Class 2 programs less than 10 minutes away. (I know they aren’t that good this year, but Central should be average to solid each year.)

This is correct. Battle is a couple of players away from being really good, Union will be too much for them but I see a 35-6 type game.

I still think it’s amazing to see Richlands dead last.

Union should win this one but I would say they better bring their A game. Abingdon is decent. Their 2 other losses were to Christainsburg and Tennessee High. Plus as it’s been said here, Battle isn’t a bad team. They just need a couple of players to be a playoff team.

No blocking and no imagination in play calling. It’s been very vanilla all year. I get that they wouldn’t be as good as last year but this team has some talent on it. I just wonder if they will do what’s looking to be necessary with the coaching situation or just let it ride till Dwayne is ready to retire.

We rip John Battle on here but I did watch the game against RV last week. They have some talent. They aren’t great and have no businesss beating Abingdon, but aren’t a bad team either

The flatness tonight reminds me of the game against Bluefield last year.
