Im watching on NFHS but I’m sure it’s windy up there. I think the biggest mystery is how did Battle beat Abingdon?

Cal preps has it 28 -19 RV. Good thing for Abingdon is they have them beating Northern Virginia Home School 34-22 on Saturday. you have to give Abingdon credit for playing games back to back. 🤣🤣

Oh no doubt. That’s why I’m rooting for Tiller to win the state title. Plus I got some friends in Honaker and always liked their program. I mean you have a decent QB. (One of the better ones around here) and in 2 years he has regressed from Freshman to Junior. There is no excuse for that, because I know that he is a super smart kid.

I think RV will win this one but it’ll be close. Home field should be enough to get the pack the win. The defense is legit, but lack of imagination on offense is puzzling, I know there are no game breakers on the team this year but some offensive creativity would help the QB out tremendously.

I just remember RV first game in existence was against Jenkins and we’re up 56-0 at the end of the first qtr. Bad side was that team lost one of their best players due to an ACL during that game as they were calling off the dogs pretty quick. That’s the biggest worry for VHS is injuries because of what the score will likely be quickly,

Loss prevention isn’t going to like backpacks being stuffed. Pretty sure that’s against store policy.

I wonder if in a month if anyone on that list will be able to beat Graham. The injury bug should be healing up soon.

Based on these numbers the new Buchanan County school won’t be that much bigger than Ridgeview. That’s surprising.

I don’t think so. I’d say getting the equipment up there would be difficult. The road and round about at the entrance to the school would be difficult for an 18 wheeler. But yeah with drone views looking at Pine Mountain would be spectacular.

I’m surprised that’s on tv next week. I know they’ve done Central and Union the past couple of years but wasn’t Union and GC already on there. Surprised they’d have the same teams twice in a season.

I was critical of RV fans last night for their behavior and this is no better from adults in the BSG area. Yes the RV kid shouldn’t have done what he did, but it doesn’t need a film breakdown and the whole area trying to get WCYB as has been tagged to do a full scale investigation. Some extra push-ups and wind sprints after practice on Monday will do.

I believe the schools are going to need to get some more money to the officiating group. I’ve heard numbers like they only get paid $100 for a varsity game. That’s ridiculous considering how far some of these guys probably have to drive. Like I said in an earlier post, the schools are getting what they’re paying for.

I’m glad that they have bleachers on both sides. Tonight had the potential to get ugly.

2 years ago it was bad too. I try to lay off refs as much as I can because I know they don’t get paid squat to do these games. The schools are getting what they pay for. Want better officiating, pay more into the pot.

I thought RV played a great game considering how undermanned we were. This team will grow but I see a second round exit from the p,ayoffs this year. Which is very good considering what was lost to graduation last year. Our fans are great, but some of you need to calm the _ _ _ _ down. Union was not holding on every play and jumping offsides every play. The better team won tonight. And don’t yell at the other side when a kid is hurt, when you’ve been trash talking a player the entire game from the stands because you’re 40 and sound like a jack a$$. O’Quinn played a good game but the interception in the 1st qtr was a bad decision. I’m wondering if he may be on the field too much. Qb is his top responsibility. (Except according to a few fans who wanted him benched tonight). I’m still waiting for their explanation on that one.

No offense taken. It was very cringe worthy tonight. It didn’t help that the officials weren’t that great. The admin at the high school needs to bar some of these 40 somethings and send a message. If this was like the soccer game, it would have gotten out of hand in a hurry tonight.

3 state championships makes you special. Maybe not the top of the list in the coverage area as I’d go with Tom Turner, but to say not special ridiculous.

You are correct about Ridgeview. Plus they should have put the track where the practice fields are.

There would be an uproar from the Haysi area if that were to happen. That’s why they pushed so hard to build the stadium when the new school was built. I do miss Ralph Cummins stadium though. I’m glad they decided to do something with it instead of it just sitting rotting.

RV schedule is weak. VHS was a nice addition, but keeping Norton on the schedule is a head scratcher. They could have kept Bluefield which would have been a great late season test going into the playoffs. As for the game, Union seems to have the advantage, but having the best player at the most important position on the field give RV a good 33% chance to win. If this game were on the ridge I’d be closer to 50%. I believe this game becomes the best rivalry in SWVA over the next decade (if it isn’t already).

I’d say in 2D, the top 8 is pretty accurate. May see VHS go on a run and replace one of the teams 6-8. That’s the only changes I can see. RV and Union are probably playing for the 1 seed. The loser is probably number 2 if they can beat Abingdon.

I think for the first time since consolidation RV and Union are going to be on an even footing. Every year up to this point I’ve thought that one team or the other had the decided advantage. Union is a favorite but I’m not so sure they have a decided advantage this year.
