Most of the newer schools around here have it. It comes down to cost. Most schools won’t have to replace it for 20 years supposedly. I have my doubts about that looking at how the turf at Ridgeview has faded. Most if not all the 1A schools all play on grass.

A lot of the complaining about refs at RV games is embarrassing and truly cringe worthy. It’s gotten a lot worse the past few years, to the point it’s hard to sit in the stands with some of these people. The things that were coming from some fans mouths at the Graham game last year could’ve easily started some fights.

GC just needs a larger stadium for the home side. Especially now that their program is pointed in the right direction.

And no sign that it will end anytime soon. In reality, RV and Union should be very even in football and most sports. The schools are relatively the same size and the lineages are from strong programs. But something happened with consolidation that I didn’t foresee. There’s more nepotism ther now than I ever saw at Clintwood. Can’t speak for Erivinton or Haysi.

I just hope their program can survive that trip to Jenkins Ky. Lots of power points for that game.

They should get the folks at Hard Rock to build them a new stadium. Lol

Not like this. Clintwood fabs used to be ok till the last state title run in football prior to consolidation. Now most of them think they are experts on everything. The biggest problem and this will sound and may be sexist) is the moms. They are usually the instigators. They take everything their ignorant husband says in the stands as the truth and pour gasoline on the situation. Having said that, Haysi and Ervinton fans aren’t exactly angels either.

I can’t believe Jenkins is going to get thei program going again. RV’s first ever game against them was 56-0 at the end of the 1st qtr if I remember correctly. A game in which killed the packs chances of having a decent team because of injuries.

And now the VHSL has NIL for players.

I thought Union had the makings of a decent team in a couple of years when they played RV last year. I think they may keep it close for a while agains the hill.

You’d think that KY would fix this issue when out of state teams come over. Considering the issues their schools have scheduling games too. There’s hardly any teams around here that will schedule games over there, and there is the possibility of some good geographic rivalries.

There’s nothing wrong with one cupcake. Plus I think the class 2 teams should rotate and help the smaller schools out a bit. Twin Springs will be helped greatly by the Union fans traveling there.

Yes it’s Grant and I would add him in as well. But he wouldn’t be at the top of my list. I think the whole country needs an overhaul starting with the school board and superintendent. Then take it from there. The problems go further than athletics even though that is the public face of the school.

This is one of several reasons that ALL bos and school board members need to be voted out this year. (With the exception of Hackney, if he’s running again). Will that happen? I doubt it, so it’ll continue. We have the nicest campus in the state , but the administration is crap. That goes for superintendent and useless directors of everything.

I’m not condoning the coach, but from what I’ve heard discipline is lacking in a big way at the school. I know some people that will not work there as a sub because of the way some of the kids act.

I liked the trips to Bluefield. Other than the results. Lol havok is 100% correct about a good percentage of the fans. They showed there a$$es during the last game against Graham. I live in Clintwood and it seems to be mostly a Clintwood issue. The fans got spoiled by the run before consolidation.

Are they all on the bench? The NBA only allows 3 plus the head coach.

With the transfer portal being what it is, I wonder also. Coaches have to keep their eyes everywhere now.
