Well there are two teams close to each other that should be in class 2 and not 1...

Need to put Uncle Percy on the VHSL classification committee. Those 2 teams, guess you are talking about GW and Grayson Co., might get to stay in their District but state playoffs it would be  Division 2 for both of them.

  2. 7 on 7, west coast offense. This is not something new. Uncle Percy said this was what they played during lunch and recess  during the 1960s in elementary school. Good man to man defense could shut down most of these passing attacks because the QBs get locked on one receiver on the play call. They’re too slow on their other reads and by then a good pass rush has flushed them, put them on the ground, or forced a bad pass. Look what happen to Lebanon @ Grundy 2 years ago. In the playoffs when they faced a good pass rush, 32 - 0

  3. Brother Lance. Uncle Percy says it’s about time to shutdown these topic and lock it away. The critics have expounded their thoughts and concerns. The “experts” have voiced their “expert” opinions. The head coach has been discussed, asst coaches’ names have been tossed around along with discussions on “recruiting” and other topics. As always, when it comes to Richlands, The Mayor of the Trailer Park has made the most sense. However, after 25 pages, 614 comments and 51k views Uncle Percy just laughs. He said “Out of this commenting there’s no Paul Harveys that know the rest of the story”.  Mayor, Uncle Percy says you’re probably the closest. See folks, Uncle Percy knows something the rest of us don’t and he’s not talking. He won’t even tell Cousin Claude and they both belong to one of those secret societies with about 13 - 15 handshakes and upteem pass words. So Bother Lance, Uncle Percy says if these people haven’t figured it out yet, they probably never will, except maybe the Mayor. So lock her down and turn out the lights as Dandy Don used to sing.

It would have been done in executive session, in private, I think.

That’s what I was thinking too. Personnel issues aren’t discussed in open meeting. It will probably be common knowledge in 24-48 hours if they hired someone.

OF course it would have been done in executive session AND they never discuss personnel issues in an open meeting unless IT’S TO ANNOUNCE A NEW HIRE.  They didn’t announce after coming out executive session and the meeting was over is less than 30 minutes.

  5. With all this speculation and prognostication that has been posted on here for about a month, give or take. Common Sense would be that they have a name for the next School Board Meeting so they can vote on and hire before the next semester of school which would start in January. As for Common Sense, The Mayor of the Trailer Park would be the best as to enlighten us on the Levels and Degrees of Common Sense in Tazewell County on such matters.  Then again, whoever they hire may not be able to come until May or June.

  6. This is going to be a condensed version. We started not to post. Week started out bad for Uncle Percy. He had to take one of dogs, one that had been sick, back to the vets on Monday. Seems she had a relapse after she appeared to be getting better. Vet gave some new meds, went back Friday and she was doing much better. Acting a lot like her old self. Uncle Percy claims that dog gots more fight in her than that Loser who posted that they should call a football game after halftime if a team is losing by 50 or more. However, Uncle Percy got riled up about a hour ago after we were telling him about no visitors‘ stands at Radford. He went on a rampage about the Hypocrisy of the VHSL. Said that was one of the complaints made by Salem against Grundy back in ‘96 and another was not enough parking. Says that they ain’t no parking at Bullit Park either. Goes to show who you are with the VHSL. If you are able to win Union, look out, Radford may want you move the game if you’re the host.

    Graham @ Union

We guess this is the big one. Just about everyone figured this would be a rematch for the Region Championship since Union beat Graham early on. Trouble with rematches, they can be trouble to win a second time around. This time the Revenuers have a healthier Clements and are there any Bears fast enough to catch a Clements on the loose. We don’t think so.

    Lil’ Leonard’s Loser:

    Union

Footnotes:  There will be no victory celebration at the RV Park tonight. However, they may be serving hot chocolate with extra, extra miniature marshmallows at the large billboard with Sunoco on it near the RV Park for the Mamby Pambies. On a happier note for you Big Stone Gappers, Uncle Percy included Bullitt Park as one of the 3 worst places he ever watched a football game. They are Garden (arrogant obnoxious fans and low bleachers), Iaeger, WV (mosquitoes off the Tug River), and Bullitt Park (bad parking and arrogant obnoxious fans). Union fans from Appalachia, Uncle Percy said Appalachia was one of his favorite places to watch football. Great fans, Betsy’s Diner, and he really liked Tom Turner.

    Rye Cove @ Honaker

Wonder if any Ridgeview fans are kicking themselves in the Butt. Another rematch of a good game earlier in the year. The Eagles will still not be able to soar high enough to get away from these Tigers. Look for this one to be another good close game.

    Lil’ Leonard’s Loser:

    Rye Cove

    Galax @ George Wythe

Don’t know much about either except that probably George Wythe like Grayson Co should be 2A. We hope Sixcat’s Cabinetmakers put the lathe extra hard to the Maroon Macaroons.

While Riverheads is not there yet, one more game to go, Uncle Percy says probably Riverheads against these 3. Redford will be out coached, they will out physical Union, and Graham is the wild card. Graham outcome will depend on how many penalties, especially unsportsmanlike, they get whistled for and if they can contain Graham’s speed.

That’s Radford, not Redford. Uncle Percy’s comments about spell check have to be censored.

One thing that should work in Riverheads' favor is their offensive style of play. That under-center, two TE Wing-T is a rarity these days and I'm sure it's tough to prepare for in a week.

I've always rooted against them because I hated seeing them dominate smaller schools in Class 1 but I hope they make the Class 2 final. It would be an interesting game against Radford, Union or Graham.
