Trivette is a rare talent and a game changer and will make a difference on whatever team she plays for, the Reynolds girl, not so much. The one thing regarding transfers that no one likes to talk about, is what hometown girl was pushed aside and riding the pine for a mediocre player to have playing time? Hometown kids getting screwed by transfers like the Reynolds girl is a shame. That being said, Go Falcons!
Seems to be that he did that for Lebanons core sophomore class. Numerous rumors were circulating that 2-3 of Lebanons sophomores were going to transfer if he stayed. Sorry Richlands fans but it looks that Reece will be staying
I’m pretty sure he does play basketball and baseball which begs the question why would he come to Richlands when Lebanon is already better than Richlands in all 3 sports. He would also be in the SWD so really nothing changes he just has to carry the load with a different jersey on

They are on a good path, the football program will definitely improve, Ronnie Davis knows football, all he needs is for the kids and community to buy in. Basketball has the same potential, place a good head coach in the position that will invest time with the kids and watch it get better. Baseball, it’s rock bottom, the worst it’s ever been. They are in desperate need of stability and a head coach that’s interested in investing time and growing the program. Maybe with the new field they can attract a quality coach and get that program on the right track.Honestly, the future is far from bleak, it’s actually lookin’ pretty good for the blues.

That could be a game changer. Isn’t the kid a three sport athlete? Football ain’t the only sport that’s in desperate need of talent. Maybe he can bring some guys along with him that’s not happy with the current climate of Boyd High, I mean Lebanon. Or the Boyd's can come back to Richlands, there’s an HC basketball coach available. Our AD position needs a change. Either way, it will be improvement.
So from what you have stated, every coach that coaches any sport in any school in Tazewell County is simply a yes man or yes woman. Wow, that's a lot of coaches for the school board to keep track of. How do they pull this feat off? Have they got a secret committee that no one knows about execpt every coach in the county sworn to secrecy? Which school is discussed the most during their meetings? I know I'm funning with you, and it is a bad situation with the school board trying to run everything, but it doesn't seem logical to me if every coach is a yes person. The only thing wrong in your post is your assumption that they are a yes man the school board members, did not say that. They are yes men the central office staff.
That is all the details needed. If you can’t understand that, then just brush up on the Virginia public schools district make up, from central office down. Who hires who, who answers to who.
It’s not hard to understand why an outsider is rarely hired. They can’t be controlled. I’m not saying this is right or agreeing with it in any way. It sucks and kids suffer. But it’s real world and has been going on for a long time.
Exactly why I posted early on this thread that a clean house was needed and a coach from outside the area needed to be hired, but I disagree with you on Davis bring a yes man, I think he has already proved he plays talent from his coaching in other sports. The main thing I see is he has to have assistants and supporters who are not yes men to the TCSB members who want to be involved. Let the guy coach next year and if it proves he is that yes man doing lip service for the higher ups it will show quickly.

Do you know what happens to coaches that are not yes men to TCPS central office? They do not get hired to head coach positions.
Also, no assistant will get passed if they are not also yes men. One may fall through the cracks on occasion, but they are not tolerated and are directly shown the door.
These people are aware of what it takes to land and keep their jobs. Just trying to prepare the unaware.
My, my, my, how times have changed. A few years back everyone was dumping on Mance about the transfers, but now it seems Mance was ahead of his time, because tranfers seem normal and acceptable. I can see both pros and cons about transfers, but in todays time transferring from one school to another is no big deal especially if it works out to the good of the player. If HC Davis surrounds himself with good assistants he will be successful. The HC is like a president and has to have the final say. The assistants are like cabinet members and can always have discussions with the HC about changes, or recomendations, but in the end the HC has the final say. What we've seen the past couple of years is assistants changing the game plan in the middle of a game without the HC's approval, causing nothing but chaos and confusion, with players not knowing which play to run.
I think Davis has been involved long enough in coaching that he understands how to delagate but still remain in control. I wish him the best in choosing assistants that will get involved but remain loyal to him in the HC position.
If any of y’all think Ronnie Davis wasn’t placed in the HC position by central office because he will do as expected, then let me assure you, he was specifically placed there as a yes man that will as do as expected. Will he be a better HC, surround himself with better assistants, have better all around control and football knowledge than Tarter? I guess we will see, but do not expect him to rock the boat and play kids based on talent and not who their parents or buddies kids are, sorry, didn’t mean to rain on the parade, just felt like a little dose of truth might be needed.
The new HC will be named after the TCSB sits on their backsides waiting out the interview time period, already knowing who the new HC will be, just let the time roll bye to save face. Our School Board is pathetic!!
Not sayin that your wrong, but our school board candidates where up for re-election and they both ran unopposed. So, maybe instead of the constant online bashing, throw your hat in the ring and run for a seat, now that could actually shake things up.

Honoring a contract isn’t a priority for Ronnie Davis. As far as that goes, breaking one it’s not a deal breaker for TCPS either, so as I said, who’s taking over the HC basketball if he gets hired?

Who’s lined up to step in as the basketball HC when Ronnie gets the football job? He’s been know to just walk off and leave a bunch of kids before the season is over, or in this case, even started.

That’s hard to believe that he would turn it down, but anything is possible.
He is already getting crucified as the basketball HC and with his quitter past, he’s probably already planning his exit.
I suggest letting the School Board Supervisor of Secondary Education be the coach, after all he thinks he knows more about coaching football than anyone else, so let him show everyone how it is done.

There needs to be some kind of rule or limit to how many times that a coach can quit, leave, then come back and then quit again, leave again and come back again and again. The kids deserve stability, which seems to be rare these days.

History will be made at Ernie Hicks Stadium tonight! There has been a lot of History upon the field of play at the Ernie, but I'm sure we never saw this coming. Hold onto your hats because I think we will continue to be on the down swing for at least 3 or 4 more years. Rumor has it this coaching staff plans to make the Ernie their home for at least 3 (if not 4) more years, so there you have it.

Until the administration changes the coaching staff , they will show up next year 0-10 these kids don’t want to play for these coaches they don’t know football ! Worst in RHS history
Who are Tarter’s assistants? Serious question, no clue. The only one familiar was Ronnie Davis, then he did his usual Ronnie Davis thing and quit. Who makes up his staff?
