Don't know if many people know this, but Meadows broke his other(left) hand in the 2nd quarter of the game Saturday and played thru it. To play like he did with that hand.....kid is a warrior.

Apparently he woke up with a nearly black wrist from the bruising. From what I heard, just as bad as the first one.

All district band is at John S Battle today. GW band boosters fundraised all week to get the band a tour bus. Playing the early game really hurts the bands chances of getting to the game in time.

Happened to Galax each of the past 3 years.

A few of Graham’s band showed up 3rd quarter last year. I’m pretty sure they will be able to make it in time today

  3. I wonder how conditioning and depth match up between the two teams. I think both teams will be the most physical opponent the other has faced, to my knowledge. With Graham starters seldom playing in the fourth, I can’t 100% be certain how used they are to maintaining the physicality all game against another grueling team. I know Graham rotates on the lines a lot, and if CW doesn’t have that depth (I have no idea if they do) that could be the game deciding factor.

  4. The way I see it is that if graham goes 50/50 on the line of scrimmage on both sides, they win this game. With what information I have, Central May match graham in power, but Graham has speed and a D1 athlete in the backfield. I still think a close, low scoring game, but it’s graham’s game to lose. Still a good chance of the gmen losing by committing  penalties or turnovers

Completely agree!!!! Coach Grant is a very good defensive coordinator.  Graham was simple better at doing what they wanted on the offensive aside of the ball. RV HAD ZERO RUN GAME and seemed like the short passing game was not part of the game plan.  They didn’t throw an out to a TE who had played limited snaps on offense all year. But what ever! The play that real blows my mind is the punt were RV DIDNT COVER THE SLOT GUNNER. It baffles me not one of the 15 people staying on the sideline would call a time including Stanley

That pass was a dime by Shockley

    Class 1

Riverheads 35, Essex 28.  65% chance for Riverheads of winning.  I'm taking Essex.

George Wythe 31, Grundy 27.  60% chance for Wytheville winning.

Hypothetical matchup- Riverheads 40, Wytheville 24, 86% chance of Riverheads winning.

    Class 2

Central Woodstock 26, Poquoson 7,  88% chance of Woodstock winning per Calpreps.

Graham 41, Appomattox County 24.  88% chance of Graham winning per Calpreps as both Graham and Central are favored by 17.  The problem is, the two teams that are 17 point dogs don't like to play by the odds in big games, and both have a history of rising to the occasion.

Hypothetical matchup- Graham 31, Central-Woodstock 21, Graham with a 74% chance of winning.

    Class 3

Heritage 27, Christiansburg 14.  80% chance of Heritage winning.

Phoebus 44, Brentsville District 7.  Phoebus with 99% chance of winning.

Hypothetical Matchup- Phoebus 34, Heritage 12.  Phoebus with an 88% chance of winning.

    Class 4

EC Glass 31, Kettle Run 28. 58% chance of Glass winning

Dinwiddie 38, Warwick 17.  90% chance of Dinwiddie winning.

Hypothetical Matchup- Dinwiddie 41, Glass 26.  84% chance of winning for Dinwiddie.

I think it’s nuts that there is a chance that graham wins class 2, and has a win over gw (possible class 1 champ) and half a win over glass (scrimmage possible class 4 champ.) I get that there is a lot of football left, but the fact that it’s a possibility blows my mind.

I think Graham is done next week. I think Appo will just load the box and make them throw it. Too one dimensional this year for Appo IMO

I could definitely see how we could look one dimensional from the outside, but we have a solid qb and receiving group. We are very capable of passing, but why pass when you can shove it down the middle for 400 yards?

Watching more and more on RV over the holidays on nfhs.  I like their chances against Graham.  The biggest difference I can see is Graham's attention to detail on special teams as opposed to RV.  RV matches up a little better than most with Graham.  If RV gets in a groove like they've been in the past few weeks they win by 2/3 scores.  If they can't produce a few stops along the way, I'm not sure they can win a slugfest/track meet with Graham.

I think that too many people look over Graham’s ability to adapt mid game. I think RV’s best chance is to get a lead before the D adapts and the line starts breaking down. Graham tends to wear a team down over the course of a game, especially on the lines. I think RV will jump to a 1-2 score lead early, Graham pulls back by halftime. I  think Graham squeaks by in the 4th, both scores in the 20’s. (Unless either team implodes)

50% just looked , I think it will keep going back & forth and we really won’t know for sure until Friday how rainy it might get. Rain definitely a disadvantage to predominantly pass teams.

Weather channel has it at 57 and 0% chance of rain the whole game in bluefield. No wind either.
