I was right in front of it and I thought he was in but when I saw the pictures I could see his knee was down before he fell in.

I hope so. He will probably bat 7th or 8th (at least after McCann comes back) so maybe that will give him a chance to work things out.

I like the RH bat, the power, and the speed. I just hope fans don't expect too much. Basically he's a .250 hitter with RH power who strikeouts a lot. He's not a savior. He's the compliment to Heyward and Freeman that Dan Uggla hasn't been able to be.

Actually 460 doesn't go through Sussex. Route 40 does. I-95 is closer than 460 and it will get you to Richmond in less than an hour. I lived in the Richmond area for 12 years and the "shock" people from that area have when they visit this one has nothing to do with culture. It's the mountains that freak them out.

Congratulations to Richlands on another great season!!! Ten years ago a 9-2 season would have earned you a parade. Now it gets fans fighting with each other on the internet. That's progress!!! Just ignore the garbage and be proud of what you've accomplished. Seniors, thanks for four solid years of hard work. Underclassmen, hit the weight room on 12-1 and get after it!!!

I think the Richlands girls have a good shot. Not sure about the boys yet but this will be the first year they've started on time in a while and that should help the avoid their usual slow start.

Only a few SWVA football teams are still playing and basketball season starts in eight days... Just sayin'.

Looks like they are close to signing Gerald Laird to replace Ross.

Same thing was said each of the three times Richlands has played Brookville. Richlands won two of the three.

But the teams involved aren't division winners. The wild card has been around for nearly a decade now... The non-division winner with the 4th best record in the league gets a berth in the division series. The one game playoff does nothing more than allow the team with the 5th best record a chance to steal that berth in a single game. It makes no sense from a baseball standpoint. Only from a ratings and money standpoint.

The only thing I like about the new alignment is I think it will force baseball to make a decision about the DH. I think they will leave it as is for 2013 but eventually they will have it in both leagues or ban it all together. I used to be an opponent of the DH but now I think I would like to see it in both leagues. I've never been a fan in inter-league play but barring expansion (or contraction) we're stuck with it now. I don't like the wild card and I think the new one game deal is stupid. I mean you play 162 games (all series by the way) and then have it all come down to a single game... Baseball just isn't built for one game. It's built for series. I think the wild card should be scrapped and just go straight to the LCS like the old days.

I wish Richlands had ran the score up over the years because then some of you would know what running up the score really is. The onside kick against Graham was in the 2nd quarter. It's pretty sad when you're accused of running up the score that early in the game.

I disagree. This could be the best off-season the Braves have had in a long time. They haven't had this much money to spend ($25-30 million) in years. AND they only have two major spots to fill. They will be able to get a capable CF who can lead off and a RH power hitter for either LF or 3B. Beyond that they need to strengthen the bench and find a catcher to back up Ross until McCann comes back. That's the smallest list of needs they've had in a very long time.

Thanks trueblue! Honaker has good size but the photos accentuate that as I shoot from a low angle in order to make them seen larger than life.
