  1. Pretty sure Oak Hill is still on the schedule.
  2. The loss to Bluefield did not seem the hinder the Gate City Blue Devils any enroute to a State Championship this year. Playing strong, well coached teams in the regular season tends to exposes any weakness you may have in time to correct them before it really matters in the post season. Smart coaches know that.
  3. What you are not getting is this....they could have and should have signed Bluefield as one of those three open dates BEFORE even thinking of anybody else.
  4. If they two guys that went into motion where both backs then they made the correct call. They could have been in a shift...which is legal prior to the snap and then reset for a count prior to the snap and all would be good. The officials have to wait and see if that is gonna happen so it would be a live ball foul if the did not reset. They could even shift reset and then legally go in motion again. If it was a lineman that moved prior to the snap then it would be impossible for him to legally reset and that would be a dead ball foul for False start. Hope that clears it up for you.
  5. beep beep beep...that is my BS detector going off. Who forced the deal with Pulaski County or Patrick County that were signed this year... the same guy? Richlands had open dates at that point and so did the Beavers and yet they opted to sign other teams instead and drive right by Bluefield to get to them! Face it...if looks to everyone except the Blue faithful that are drunk on Mance's Kool Aid that they just don't want any part of the Beavers. That is why the first time they run into a team with outstanding team speed in the playoffs they are toast. Wake up and smell the coffee.
  6. But to paraphrase Senator Lloyd Bentsen........"I knew Coach Carlock, and Coach Marrs you are no Coach Carlock." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senator,_you%27re_no_Jack_Kennedy
  7. Not too surprised by this. Appears to be a problem in how the SC Coaching Staff controls their kids. I recall back in 2008 the same program totally destroyed the visitors locker room at Mitchell Stadium after narrowly escaping with a victory over the Beavers.
  8. The one thing that is missing from this clip is the date...it could have occurred prior to the rule change several years ago and was completely legal at the time it was run. However the NFHS saw a number of schools using the so called "wrong ball" play that it was clarified and made a special point of emphasis in the case book.
  9. If they are going to West Graham to have a meeting you would think they would have it at Cotton's.....what were they thinking????
  10. My guess would be that whoever went to Parkersburg from PV just could not spell...hey they are in education you know.
  11. Bluefield on Friday night and River View on Saturday afternoon. Let the games begin.
  12. Nope...NBC wanted them for an episode of the "Biggest Loser"
  13. Spent at least five times already I would guess.
  14. I think they will make arrangements for you to get in the Pressbox mv91...there is a ramp at the back of the pressbox that is wheel chair accessable...either contact Pete Sarver with the City or Graham High School to make arrangements for that but I know there are handicapped people in the pressbox from time to time. Good luck and safe travels.
  15. The biggest shock to me...was the fact that Oak Hill could score 72 points on anybody. How bad could Webster County be??????
  16. Or instead of driving right by Bluefield to go play Pulaski County ....just stop off at the friendly confines of Mitchell Stadium and visit the Beavers. The truth is plain and simple if Richlands "wanted" to play the Beavers they would be playing.
  17. Exactly they are very informal for the most, and regional. IMO the reasons a AA conference does not exist in the Southern part of WV are two, Bluefield and James Monroe. You could create a very nice Coalfield Conference with AA teams in southern WV but then they would be forced to play Bluefield and/or James Monroe and not many (read none soon) are willing to do that.
  18. Nope that would be a loss to eventual AAA State Champion South Charleston in 2008.
  19. Yeah and I have some beachfront property in Mercer County if you are interested.
  20. Maybe PJ has Coach Marrs "research assistant"?
  21. Rumor has it that Coach Marrs is using his contacts with ESPN to get a deal with NBC to get the game covered nationwide on the show "The Biggest Loser"
  22. "Oh, also, I'm guessing there weren't many train horn sounds last night? LOL" No put the cannon in the endzone was in rare form.
  23. Based on what I have heard you can add AAA Greenbrier East to the list of teams that want no part of the Beavs.
  24. Probably not gonna happen, the JV and middle school both went down there this week and came home with victories, so I think that may have sealed that deal. Such a shame really.
