  1. I use Google Maps a lot when I haven't been to a place, or seek better parking, hotels, restaurants, etc. It helps out quite a bit. Just a suggestion.
  2. If they don't make changes after this mess, nothing will ever be done. I honestly thought we'd beat someone we shouldn't have this year, but now I'm just hoping they'll win one. I never thought I'd live to see this, but it is what it is.
  3. I read all threads as well. If I see a player is hurt from another school, I'll wish them well. I would hope the same if it was one of ours. I'm not sure what "stutter" GC fans did to the LPD board. I was a LONG time member there and made a lot of friends from other schools. Me and Old Dawg (RIP) used to have knockdown dragouts there...but we still respected each other and our teams. We'd tell each other where to go Monday-Thursday, but we'd buy each other a hot dog on Friday. Sadly those days are gone. There are knuckleheads for every school. There's not one school in the country that doesn't have them. As for our current situation, I ran into a guy at work this morning that I've known for 40 years and his son is currently playing. I've never heard him, in 40 years, make a negative comment about anyone...until this morning. Regardless what the fans think or want, or opposing fans think or want, one thing keeps popping into my head....the kids deserve better.
  4. Fans are going to be upset, and they should be. When fans stop caring enough to NOT get upset, then the program will be finished.
  5. I was at that game. Our stands were full by 11am and we went to the concession stand and was told "we haven't even been to get buns for hot dogs yet because we didn't expect this many people". Then some of the players and cheerleaders left in the back of a truck to go to the store...lol. That day was interesting all the way around. Ole Tob (for those that remember him) was with me and I remember him saying "we have to be getting close because there's a bunch of red hats".....come to find out they were waiting for the Santa Train apparently.
  6. Dangit I miss always miss the bloodshed....or jellyshed in this case.
  7. I was thinking he did. Hope he has a speedy recovery.
  8. Sure hate to hear that. Hasn't he had a lot of injuries? It's possible I'm thinking of someone else but seems like he's been hurt a lot in his time there.
  9. Being a lifelong fan of both, it's necessary unfortunately.
  10. I can't believe people want Jeremy coaching defense (did you ever watch that mess?) and/or Reed coming back as head coach. Apparently I'm in the minority. They might've loved the kids, but that doesn't make them a great coach. Heck, I love people, but my hind end doesn't need to be on a sideline every Friday night. With the way it appears the little league has dropped off, maybe that's a good place to start.
  11. Everytime y'all mention the Bearded Moose, I start missing my ex mother-in-law for some reason.
  12. It sure was. Man that was a fun couple of weeks.
  13. I still don't see how GC beat Jefferson Forest in '97. I just know it took me 2 weeks to get my voice back.
  14. I also agree with the Graham comment. For a number of years, there were 2 regional champions (GC and Graham) and if I'm not mistaken, it was split right down the middle. GMan might be able to help me out with that, because I've slept since then. GC/Graham will always be my favorite rivalry, even topping GC and Powell Valley.
  15. Man that's tough. Hopefully he'll be able to rebound quickly. I hate to see any of these kids get injured.
  16. GC played in a jamboree over there several years ago. They were hitting people 3-5 yards out of bounds every chance they got and it wasn't called one time. Alcoa lost at Corbin a couple of weeks ago. If that tells you anything about KY (pun intended) officiating.
  17. I still think GC will beat someone they shouldn't. This may be the week.
  18. I'm not sure. I was just told he's not playing.
  19. GC has had their chances. It would've been much more interesting had Calhoun been able to play tonight.
  20. He got the "showing up late" stuff from his daddy. I watched Appalachia back the bus in one night and come straight to the sideline without even warming up. They kicked our tails and got right back on the bus and headed home.
  21. Last time I sat on that side, GC was playing Powell Valley in the playoffs. It felt like we were sitting in a cracker box.
  22. There's a bug going around Ryan. It would be a shame if you were to "get sick" and have to miss calling a game..lol Speaking of which, this is the first GC/Richlands game that I have ever missed.
  23. Visitors seating at UVA-Wise is horrible, unless they've expanded since GC last played there.
  24. Not to re-hijack the thread, but this is the toughest GC team we've had in awhile. Don't be surprised if it isn't closer than most think. If they get down big early though, I don't see them coming back this early in the year without a quick-strike threat.
  25. I'm not all that sold on Boone. From what I heard, Battle wore them out earlier. This also isn't the South teams of the past few years. GC is better than people think, but I wish we were playing Richlands around week 7 instead of week 1. I'd run the ball until they stop it. We tried getting cute Friday night and it cost us.
