  1. This is true. Rodriguez stunk up the joint in his first 2 years at WVU, too. If Michigan fans are patient enough, and they're notoriously trigger-happy, they'll get back to where they were and go beyond that. But hey, anytime the Big 10 falls outside Happy Valley, I'm pleased.
  2. One more loss and it's the first losing regular season (sub 5-5) since 1988, am I right?
  3. My grades on each candidate's oratory skills: McCain: C Obama: B- Palin: B- Biden: D+ No Clinton, Reagan, or Nixon here. Yes, I said Nixon; he was a better public speaker than most give him credit for. The point is, I can't watch these debates. Such poor public speaking skills for each one of them.
  4. Exactly correct. Since Congressmen will never, ever vote themselves out of their jobs via term limits, the people have to stand up and clean house. If people don't like the president (32% approval rating) or their Congressmen (16% approval rating), vote them out! Too bad the majority of Americans think like this: "Congress is terrible, but MY Congressman isn't that bad!". Yes, SWVA is as guilty of this as any region. Thus, a 90% reelection rate, on average.
  5. $2.89 here, my friends, I kid you not! At the Sheetz station in Carlisle, PA, of course. ;)
  6. Yep. And the other will be exactly like it. Obama's not as good an orator as he'd have us believe, and it's never been one of McCain's strong points.
  7. There's no benefit in taking the first one that comes your way, especially since he'd have to wait until 2009 to suit up for a D-I program, anyway. Let the offers come in, then decide.
  8. Haha, many thanks! ;). One heartbeat away from the presidency? President of the Senate? The ability to be better than Dick Cheney? Count me in!
  9. Ah, you and your trick questions! ;)
  10. Haha, I have to do the whole absentee ballot thing, being up in PA and all. Let's just say, I had a write-in for one position we're all voting for this year. I bet you all can guess what it was, too. But I shan't tell. I'm proud to be able to vote. It's a shame that barely one-third in my age group do.
  11. Not entirely true. Cubans vote HEAVILY Republican. Bay of Pigs = JFK = Democrat. I can't remember if it's either Jewish or Catholic vote Republican heavily, but I know one of them does.
  12. Unless he reels off 7 straight wins to close out the regular season, I'm done with him. But our administration won't be, that's for sure.
  13. Was the 2003 Graham-Gretna game as good as it appeared from the reports I heard afterward? 1. No team had touched Gretna all season. The closest score differential was 35. 2. Gretna jumps out to a 27-0 lead, midway through the 2nd. 3. Graham wills themselves back into it to make it 27-22. 4. Graham picks Vic Hall off at their own 15, giving them a chance to drive downfield to win it. 5. Two BIG-time players in this game, both fighting with all they're worth to earn the victory.
  14. 'Tis true, convicted felons vote about 90% Democrat. Wonder why? ;)
  15. I'm in the minority that says go for 2. A couple of reasons. 1. You have to make a 2-pointer at some point. There's no difference in missing it later in the game than earlier, with the exception that you take all the drama out of the end of the game, or you break your team's hearts more than if you had made it. 2. The mental advantage. You make that 2-pointer, you put doubt in the opposing team while pumping up your own. No longer is it a "maybe we can tie if we get the ball back". It's a "we WILL tie if we get the ball back" scenario. Believing is half the battle.
  16. We actually looked somewhat competent last night, which was bizarre considering who the offensive coordinator is. UVA actually took shots downfield. They actually let Cedric Peerman run. They turned Verica loose, for once. Finally, some glimmer of light. Perhaps we can do the same against ECU this weekend. I'd love to win this game. I might have to break my own "No Transitive Property Rule" if we do!
  17. Haha, your last two posts have been right on the money.
  18. Wow, this is an incredible story. Holy cow. I mean, sans the $850 in back taxes. But it'll be well worth it, after it finally gets fixed.
  19. A very astute observation. I agree with the majority of what you've said here.
